Art is in you. Understand what it means.
Have you ever sat down and wondered what art really was? Well, there is no telling you what art really is, because art is what you feel it is. When you look at a painting that appears to be one thing, but to someone else is another, it’s because they feel differently about the story inside of the picture. One person may look at a purple tree, and say that it is in fact, not a purple tree, but a grape on a stick, let’s just say. I’ve done quite a few abstract paintings, and people always ask, “What is it?” or “I don’t quite know what those are?” Well, you don’t have to know what they are. Create your own story. You are the author of your own life, and you are the author of everything you come across.
I write a lot of poetry, as many of you may know, and they all have many stories. A wide variety of my poems have at least two stories. They have my story hidden between the lines, and they have your story that may be created due to your prior history. You may have lived the words. Someone you know may have lived the words. Maybe you want those words. You want everything to do with those words. They are your words now. Live them, lust for them, show empathy to them, or even hate them, but know them.
