A review of the season three episode.
Synopsis: The Doctor, Martha and Captain Jack travel a trillion years into the future to the end of the universe and help the few remaining survivors launch a ship to a sanctuary they refer to as Utopia.
What I liked about this episode: I think the surprise twist involving the professor, where he is really a Time Lord who has had his memory erased, was a good one. That was something I honestly wasn’t expecting and I can normally smell a plot twist like that a mile away.
I also love the character Captain Jack. He adds a bit of comedy relief to the episodes he’s in plus the revelation he is now immortal because of Rose was another nice twist.
What I didn’t like about this episode: The bad guys in it are a bit too weak for me. There’s nothing scary about them at all and, quite honestly, I’ve come to expect more from this series.
Also, what the heck is up with humans still using guns with bullets? They are a trillion years into the future. Hasn’t anyone invented a laser gun yet?
Final Opinion: This is the first part of a three part series and it was a good start. I definitely approved of it and would recommend it.
