If we are to be Writers, we should really concentrate on content and writing better. It’s all a process of improvement……
One of the best Writers and Poets on this Site wrote an article about Spell Checking and grammar. I agreed wholeheartedly with her article and since that time I have become more aware of my content. Constructive criticism in a gentle manner goes a long way. It made a difference in my life. When I look at glaring errors in other content, I may consider the individual and just hope that they learn to re-read what they have written. Misspellings, poor grammar, partial words, no emphasis on whether “they know” or “she knows”. It is partial to say “she know”.
Triond does tend to be filled with glitches which has impeded some of my efforts at corrections but it doesn’t mean that I don’t go over my work immediately after it’s published or weed through past articles for possible correction needs. I have written over 1500 or more articles for the Internet, I believe which includes over 500 on this site. Sometimes after we look at our words we wonder “did the background television or radio make me write that word…where did it come from?” Well, that happens to me sometimes. No, it’s not an alter-ego or anything.
Being a Good Writer is important to me. Admittedly being a Former Secretary, I used many formats and composed letters as well. I’m very practical and to the point. My weakness is however, my hands being quicker than my eyes sometimes. My strengths are in my desire to improve. As the Article Writer said “Who knows who is watching our work?” That statement was inspiring and I would much rather look at the possibility that someone could be watching me than to think that all of these words and thoughts are floating out into the Universe and coming back to me VOID.
We can sometimes get lost in what we don’t have, rather than concentrating on what we do have. If we are writing fluidly it means that we have a measure of vision, flexibility in our hands, HANDS, a mind, ideas and drive! The rest is left to whatever is meant to happen to us and not to lament on what is not. If we think otherwise, it is counter productive to our thoughts and how we write. We should never generalize, but be concerned with the impact we could make in the world of Writing. We must all understand that we could be doing the same things for different reasons and expectations.
I love to be able to write in what I believe is an Editorial Style, I love How Tos and could delve much deeper into Articles on my Medical Knowledge, but Medical things drive my mind too deep and those who know me personally know that I am sensitive in those areas. Bottom line though is that I wish all well who want to achieve and I would much rather encourage any and every one who would ask, or realize a need of my fellow Writer and try to fill it. My aim is to find an audience, get along with my Triond friends and continue to be creative. If I am creative no where else, I am definitely creative in thought, just not gifted like a Poet which could make me a little more edgy! I refuse , however to believe that there is no niche for me. Peace to you.
