Why Helium?

I checked out Helium’s site as well.

I thought “ok this sight looks all right”, so I filled out the form and joined, when I go to write an article it takes me to some page where I can find a title, after a second I figure out what it means, to write there you have to write about a specific article title they have already chosen, plus you cannot start a new article, but maybe I didn’t see that option, although I looked and looked.

What I mean is they have a bunch of article topics already made and you have to add to those, maybe this is due to the fact that their articles have to be a staggering 400 words long, which isn’t a lot but still too much to do each time I feel like writing.

I might try and find something interesting in there to write about, but it should be easier than it is on that site, at least they seem to have a lot of written articles, so that’s good.

Also it did not have enough poetry for me it seemed, I believe poetry is the blood of writing, but if you enjoy writing about others articles or have writers block, Helium may be for you.

Thanks.

Yes, many sites out there are more interested in articles not poetry .

I too am on Helium as well. It’s really different than here — I’m not a big fan. You can submit a new title if you can’t find one suitable to write to but it has to be approved by them and can take a couple of days. By then I’ve usually lost my interest. You have to earn $25 to reach payout. Even though I sold two of my articles right away at their marketplace for $10 each, I still haven’t reached $25 after a couple of months. I much prefer Triond. Here’s an article I wrote about it http://www.writinghood.com/Online-Writing/Triond-Vs-Helium.317753

    I looked at it and decided it’s not for me. Try;
    http://www.bukisa.com/myhome
It allows more articles, though it isn’t a poetry site.
If you join, add me as a friend!
    Thanks,
    Clay
P.S. Rumor is they pay better!

Helium is defiantly not a good place to post. I joined there a month or so ago. Things are hard to find, not a good feel.

I’ve been checking out Bukisa, but it isn’t working for me right now. When I click the publish button, nothing happens. Maybe it’s just the internet browser I’m using or my version of flash. Anyways, I sent them an email today and am awaiting a response.

I heard of helium but never checked it out, sounds like a lot of work, and not a lot of freedom, great article about it though!

I havent written anything yet, or done much research, but there is always associated content
They give you lists of ideas, but I don’t believe you can only write on those subjects, though like I said I havent checked it out too much

    Just an idea!

Hello Jasin and the Triondites, Triond Citizens, TriondNetizens ( any good terms for us here? ) Started at Bukisa with poetry…not a problem.

The picture upload can only be used if you have photoshop, as it requires specific dimensions, for images – thanks man.

    Still zero cash . j

The pay at Helium is like 50% to you 50% for them whereas at Triond it’s all the clicks you get so I tend to err about Helium because I’ve tried them already.

Six months later and 25 cents??? Are you serious?

I haven’t checked out helium yet, but I hear that it’s similar to AC. I have some articles on Bukisa, but like they said, not for poetry. One good place for poetry that I have found is today.com. You create your own blog. They pay pretty well and have a nice little referral plan too. You are paid 1.00 per the first approved post per day of 100 words or more, plus 2.00 per thousand unique visits.

    my referral page: http://www.today.com/ctr.cgi?idx_mem=9733&mode=vip

    my blog page: http://poeticexpression.today.com/

    Hope this helps :)

It seems that no matter how you slice it, Triond keeps coming out on top for the most part. Its’ pay is competitive, the site is easily navigated, poets as well as article writers all vie equally for User recognition, topic variety is immense, and publishing of new work is done in a timely manner. Triond may not be perfect but it definitely is worth staying on!

We’re on Helium also. It’s interesting to see your work rated and slightly frusterating trying to find a place to fit your already existing work into all thier categories. We earned 2 writing stars in the first week which I guess is good because it opened up the Marketplace for us so we could write for actual money. But it’s competitive. We haven’t actually tried it yet. Most of the articles they want for money are pretty either complicated like California real estate laws or bizarre like electric heaters vs gel fuel. May give it a try some day. Don’t know. One of the worst sites we have found is Constant Content. We wrote one for a requestor earlier this month and they still haven’t published it. Grrrr. Anywho, good luck to you! We like your works!

I don’t like Helium. The poetry pieces we write don’t earn us anything! Triond is faarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr better!

    Thanks for the info!

interesting…pre-determined topics. the thing I like about that is if I’m forced into writing on someone else’s topic, I have to learn, and stretch, and grow…it will make me a better writer Brian
