It’s about principles: Instead of giving back – Triond is taking back! They are paying their loyal contributors less – and themselves more!
We, the contributors of Triond – are being ripped off by the very site that is profiting from our efforts – and it’s become so blatant in this new year that it can no longer be ignored.
If we say nothing – that’s what we’ll be earning here shortly. Let’s use our best weapon – words – and tell them how we really feel.
Since there is power in numbers – we (the numbers) should stop our individual whining, and unite to make our voices heard in suggesting to Triond to reconsider their ‘new’ pay structure – which, as shown below - is almost non-existent!
I realize that we make next to nothing on Triond either way, but, it’s the greed inherent in this new no-pay ‘philosophy’ that annoys me the most!
How bout you?

**One of these most recent articles received over 1,000 views in 4 days and is pure content! I wrote a FOUR line poem which is not included in this list, but has 95 views and earnings of 5 cents – which means it will out-earn the former!
What is going on at Triond?
January 30th, 2012 at 11:31 am
nice share.. now i know how triond calculation
January 30th, 2012 at 11:32 am
I am with you in this cause.
January 30th, 2012 at 11:33 am
I’ve been writing with Triond for a little over a year, and have only earned about $2.00! Granted, I don’t publish but about 1 article a week, and do not have the views you do, but I have saw several people with similar stories to share about Triond.
January 30th, 2012 at 11:34 am
You do make valid points here. how exactly do you propose we can join together and “straighten out” matters with Triond?
January 30th, 2012 at 11:34 am
It seems that more we work less we ear. And I really can’t understand this. Soon this website will be not paid but free
January 30th, 2012 at 11:36 am
and do you think it’ll work? There are a lot of inconsistencies out here..and by the way Excellent post! Thanks for the share
January 30th, 2012 at 11:37 am
I have been whining at Triond on their message section for the past year now over this decline. I have even penned an article. But people are afraid to come out and mention, through fear of being cast out by the Gods of Triond. Let us face it, only they themselves are sitting pretty whilst us writers slave away for their gain. And us? We get f**k all usually.
Even their latest glitch where they “paid” a few of us millions – when they corrected it they actually DEDUCTED earnings from what they originally were – and then missed a day’s worth of clicks. The tit Nathan never comes out and says anything as he knows they are in the wrong and fears if the truth got out, every single one of us on here would move from this site and that would cripple their little venture. Rant yes – truth most certainly!
January 30th, 2012 at 11:41 am
I’ve been having the same problem! Hundreds of views, yet only a few cents. Something is wrong here.
January 30th, 2012 at 11:43 am
Thus, my Triond Fairy article. Triond pays differently for the different sites that it places our content. Poetry is guaranteed to not make much of anything. It’s not right or fair, but, that’s the way the site is structured. I have often felt that the poets here would make more money if they used their poems a different way. I hear ya and wonder what we can do to make a change here.
January 30th, 2012 at 11:44 am
We ARE uniting – right NOW! Keep those comments coming and this will be forwarded on. Someone will and does care – if their profit margin is threatened. This is our opportunity to threaten it! We are the 99% of Triond! Speak up!!
January 30th, 2012 at 11:48 am
why this is happen ?
January 30th, 2012 at 11:51 am
ps.I think you know that i’m not doing this to get on the hot content list – I’m on there plenty enough. That stupid list is a whole other topic, btw. (can you say bullshit?..lol) I just truly believe this is something that we – the people – CAN do if we do it together! Please speak up and make your discontent known! (You can’t get ‘fired’)
January 30th, 2012 at 11:56 am
Greed. That is why it happens. Yes, advertisers pay less now due to world economics, granted. But such a drop in earnings?
Triond claim a 50/50 split on earnings. The Stickman recently published some interesting facts about increasing your article views/earnings on the message board yesterday in response to someone’s question about earnings. Whilst they are extremely helpful, they are no use when Triond appear to pay out less.
When you ask them about the decline there is no response. Surely, some form of transparency should be shown. Especially when we, the writers, practically pay them their wages. Because without us they have nothing.
January 30th, 2012 at 11:57 am
I’ve read and have experienced the same issues with Triond. I now do not write for Triond for the sake of views and money. After writing an article, I only use their dashboard for keyword searches that I received from the search engine to my articles and use them for my blogs elsewhere.I think what Triond does is subtract a lot of views that comes from the Triond community, because let’s face it people are asking for others to view 15 of their articles a day and they will do likewise so Triond knows this and subtract things that are viewed through the Triond Community.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:23 pm
I didn’t even get paid last month and now to make it worse, adsense decided to terminate my account due to suspicious activity. What suspicious activity? my article on anal sex? please! I’m heading for the hills too my friend. asta la vista!
January 30th, 2012 at 12:25 pm
Yep. I agree. Since I joined in Sept. I have earned $1.29. Count me angry, and count me in. Oh, and I thinking of moving on to greener pastures!
January 30th, 2012 at 12:25 pm
On the other hand, if I were a Triond advertiser, I’d ask them for some pretty serious discounts for 2012–after I was through smacking them around.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:30 pm
I’m telling ya. American students need to take more STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) courses. Triond cannot even find people to hire who can count.
Looks like they took away from some articles and assigned the numbers to others. You totals rose but the detailed counts are pretty erratic.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:33 pm
Here are some assumptions I’ve made during my short time here: I believe the differences in what you make for articles can be accounted for not only by the topic or the site it ends up, but by the advertisements generated by the viewers who come to those articles. Advertisements are generated by the viewer’s browsing tendencies. For instance: I spent some time this morning researching certain guitars on a music website, and lo and behold I’m barraged with advertisements for those guitars when I view my articles here at Triond.
I also agree with cterrell above. My top three sources of views come from Triond, Science Ray and Facebook. Should the Triond views count as much as the Facebook views? Maybe not, but then again, inTrionds business model it appears we are among the people they are casting their ads to. Who knows?
All that said, I am only assuming, as there really seems to be no rhyme or reason otherwise when it comes to guessing what an article will make. I can spend two hours researching and writing, or I can mash my hands down on the keyboard repeatedly and give it a snazzy title – it’s a tossup as to which will earn more.
I agree with you ImKarn wholeheartedly, but I don’t know the answer. But I do know this: After the nonsense this weekend where I got almost 500 views and made a grand total of 17 cents I refused to spend more that 20 minutes writing my article today. Why waste the time? I can put my mind to other writing sites.
And why waste the time here at all? One of the other sites I go to seems to be putting some real effort into bouncing out writers who submit unacceptable content and rewarding those who do good work. It’s nice to think that Triond would do the same.
If they don’t they’ll be left with scammers and spammers and people posting garbage. I can’t help but notice that there are a lot of really great writers who were here not so long ago and are recently gone. Maybe they they alread know what I’m starting to figure out.
So, I’m with you, ImKarn. But what do we do about it except leave?
January 30th, 2012 at 12:39 pm
I only published ten articles this month, but earned LESS than each of the three months last year when I published nothing. I’m albout to take time out again, to work on other writing I’m doing. Hope this gets resolved for everyone.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:47 pm
I quite don’t know what happens on Triond. Though Triond says they have sent payment, my paypal balance does not show the amount. Thanks for sharing your story
January 30th, 2012 at 12:52 pm
It seems you cannot exceed a certain income on this site, no matter how much or how good you write.
If the income split from advertisements earnings was 50/50, the payout had to be much higher, if I compare this with another pure Google account where I get 68%. That one should only be about a third higher than Triond, but outperforms it by far. And that although the number of views has considerably increased.
Grrrrrrr.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:55 pm
Yes, it is a rip off and we all know it. The businessmen in the world know that we the people are chumps and we know it too
January 30th, 2012 at 1:09 pm
Yes, you are absolutely correct. This month my earnings are moving at snail’s pace even though my views are the same as compared to other months.
January 30th, 2012 at 1:45 pm
There are other sites to write on… I’ve written articles on another site, was endeavoring to write more articles then poems on Triond… now i’m hesitant. One thing is… copyright… I know we retain authorship and rights, however, we should be able to post the articles, poems, etc. .. after a certain amount of time, elsewhere…. it’s our work. Once a person creates and writes something that automatically is a copyright, at least that is what i’ve been taught.
I’m new to Triond (since December last year) and I’ve met some real nice people on here… would like to stay on here.
Folks… you need to take care of your writers… afterall, if it wasn’t for us… you couldn’t publish.
January 30th, 2012 at 1:52 pm
I have received almost 10,000 views this month alone. I thought that when my views increased the earnings would increase accordingly, but it seems that the articles that have gotten me the most views don’t make as much as my poetry challenge ones. There is no rhyme or reason to what Triond is doing, and therefore I feel like they are stealing revenues from the writer’s. I sent messages to the owners blatantly threatening legal action unless they disclose their pay schedule, but they went unanswered. I believe if we all message together on one complaint message maybe we can get to the bottom of it. If someone messages me the title of their complaint I will add my complaints to it. Hopefully when Triond sees we mean business they will stop this, and pay us appropriately for our content. In the mean time I am not posting any articles that will generate enormous views any more. If i have to sacrifice my pennies to hurt Triond owners that is what I will do. It pains me to go this route, but it is not fair what the owners are doing.
January 30th, 2012 at 1:58 pm
We gotta do something about it people. Either we all leave, or we try pulling their tongues!
January 30th, 2012 at 2:02 pm
You know what’s even funnier about Triond. Everyone know I wrote my article about 10,000 views in 2 months, but what they dont know is i have another profile on Triond. I have over 190 poems on this profile, and the only clicks they get is the ones I do myself everyday. I’ve made more money on this profile, then I have done on my Philly Dreamer profile, and with far less views. The only thing I can think that is different is that Triond can not hide my real numbers from me therefore my earning are being reflected the right way on the other profile. It is not fair at all what Triond is doing, and I am with anyone who is willing to voice our arguments. Let me know if you file a complaint, and tell me the title of that complaint so i can add my grievances there as well. If we all do it within the next couple of days maybe just maybe we can get Triond to respond.
January 30th, 2012 at 2:49 pm
I’m just amazed that you have articles with earnings over $1.00. It seems like once mine get so high, I don’t make anymore on them. I don’t understand their calculations at all.
January 30th, 2012 at 3:00 pm
Its absolutely ridiculous and I can’t even be bothered publishing articles. I post maybe 1 in 5 days but I am not upset because the 2 other sites I write for pay very well and some adsense comes from Triond articles.
Triond has a lovely community but if you are writing to earn, don’t hold your breath. I will however support in asking for improved pay because so many people who write here don’t write anywhere else and know no different.
Good Work.
January 30th, 2012 at 3:57 pm
I agree and add my two cents of displeasure! Views versus earnings are truly “askew” this month and it is shameful. My questions go without responses, so I hold no hope for any of us to receive proper or adequate answers…thankfully I do this for fun, but…………….
January 30th, 2012 at 4:13 pm
To send your complaints I have started my own in Trionds help center. Add your complaints to this link so maybe we can really get some satisfaction.
http://getsatisfaction.com/triond/topics/why_are_my_triond_earnings_so_low
January 30th, 2012 at 4:30 pm
In the two weeks that I’ve been on Triond, I have gotten the sites 1,983 views. I have less than three dollars total, and I think that’s a bit of a rip off. I like doing this, so I probably won’t stop. But I would appreciate a bit more appreciation!
January 30th, 2012 at 5:51 pm
Wow ImKarn23, have you stirred up a hornets nest or what? Of course I agree with you. I look at Triond like a place to hone my writing skills, plus I really do like alot of my friends here. But I take my best articles elsewhere & use Triond for my quick articles that don’t require alot of research.
January 30th, 2012 at 7:53 pm
I find that your article defines exactly what Triond is about. He you are , you have published a very inflammatory article about Triond, and it is sitting on a triond guided site. It is not just the money, which is there if your article keep generating. It is also about the censorship. Now granted they do not like pron, but what website do you know would le you publish something negative like this about them? Triond is freedom to write, and if your not making the money it is because you have lost site of what triond is for. For the minute you live to write and write to live, the money will come.
January 30th, 2012 at 7:58 pm
This SUCKS BIG TIME Triond. So much so that for the last 7 days I’ve joined RedGage and made more in views and MONEY in that short time than I have in the whole month of January here.
(I also won $25 too!!!)
They are seriously in danger of losing some very talented writers if they don’t start respecting them more.
Great article ImKarn23 – united we stand!
January 30th, 2012 at 8:16 pm
Visiting once again – Seems that wonder boy Nathan removes comments posted on the site…how special is that? So special it ranks on top of “insulting a Triond Member”
January 30th, 2012 at 8:28 pm
As a post script to my comments above, wouldn’t one think this is in violation of First Amendment Rights? food for thought…
This entire situation is just unacceptable and here I thought Triond was an upstanding place to be…hmmmmm
January 30th, 2012 at 9:17 pm
what I have been wondering is why I went from having 400-500 views a day and now all of a sudden I am lucky if I get 1 or 2. I have not had this problem with any other sites I am on and it makes no sense to me.
January 30th, 2012 at 10:23 pm
sigh..i wish i was as fond of Triond – the site as i am of it’s writers! Write on, peeps! Let’s get ‘er done!
January 30th, 2012 at 10:26 pm
Wow! The Buzz is getting loud. I’ve been with Triond for several years but have never made any what I would call real money here. I have questioned this for some time especially when I see writers who can neither spell or conjugate a sentence supposedly make very large amounts more than I do and their articles are little more than re-writes of Googled articles. I don’t understand, It may be what I write.
January 31st, 2012 at 12:29 am
I thought I was the only one feeling the squeeze. It seems that my earnings have been static all month inspite of the views. What is even stranger is that I currently have 3.00 + on triond for the month with over 200 articles and I have made the same amount with less views and less only 50 articles onanother site. I am glad you started this thread because we have no where else to voice our concerns.
January 31st, 2012 at 12:42 am
firstly, i still have no idea how much each site pays for whatever no. of clicks.Incidentally, just a day ago, i complained about my earnings being stuck…healthmad would generally pay 1 cent per 10 clicks..i observed that my recent article had 104 clicks and only 4 cents !!!.
”……i can see the whole lot protesting out here..
Another one with 565 clicks gave me paltry 6 cents??? as expected, i haven’t got any reply from them. the only reply i got was from another disgusted user who said , “welcome to tiond
imkarn, be sure this will never turn up in ‘hot content list” either. triond isn’t stupid..we are
January 31st, 2012 at 1:42 am
I’m a new member of Triond so I’m actually still learning these things. During my first visit to Triond I noticed there was a forum section. Did they take it out? I can’t seem to find it anymore. I’ve been having loads of questions but I never get to say anything because well, the forum’s gone lol. I liked checking it before coz it helped me understand how Triond works and how to earn more if ever. Good article though!
I’ve published around 16 articles for this month, my highest number of views is 57 I think on 1 article. Got 2 cents for it. I have a total of 4 cents. Frankly I don’t know how many views are needed to earn a cent lol.
January 31st, 2012 at 3:20 am
To be honest I’m fairly new here so I’m not entirely sure what’s going on. Luckily I have my feet firmly in Ciao and Dooyoo where I can easily earn £20 -30 a month. I’m only really testing the waters with Triond.
January 31st, 2012 at 4:23 am
Same here…
January 31st, 2012 at 6:00 am
Honestly, Triond is stealing! I did not believe others until I saw yesterday that my earnings were reduced…!
January 31st, 2012 at 8:07 am
We should be able to communicate( with a Triond employee)when we have questions. I noticed that when I posted a question to Triond… my question was never answered.
I will give Triond a try since I’ve only been on this site since December of last year… just testing the waters.
January 31st, 2012 at 8:30 am
I too am earning very very low. Now I know that it is not only my problem. I have also messaged Udi Oz, bt no response.
January 31st, 2012 at 9:36 am
Yep, you are absolutely right. Even in the few short months that I have been here, the difference is noticeable. The money wasn’t my first reason for being here but there are other sites that reward more. I felt bad for doing other work instead of spending so much time here but I have to pay bills. Now I don’t feel as bad because there are so many people putting in a lot of time and effort into the work here on Triond but not really benefiting from it. But as others have said, what can we do about it. Triond isn’t making the right changes and they are seemingly chasing the writers away both with their lack of keeping things in check and in the rates per view. I love the people here but I was spending too much time on here, but for what? They want to get higher ratings but aren’t doing anything efficient to get them. Then they are making the rates lower. What incentive do we have to stay except for the people. I hate to say it but when it comes to paying the bills, it’s not necessarily enough. Great article, I hope they start to pay attention to these things!
January 31st, 2012 at 9:50 am
I was hoping to earn some money writing at triond. The few cents I’m earning from my articles are killing my hopes
January 31st, 2012 at 12:17 pm
MAD
January 31st, 2012 at 3:22 pm
my 50 cents a month, has become 25 cents a month… If there was a economic crisis at triond, I might be able to understand why I might lose afew pennies, but they have to be holding something back
January 31st, 2012 at 4:09 pm
I asked triond and after 5 days have not heard back.
January 31st, 2012 at 7:52 pm
thanks for raising this. I have almost stopped writing for Triond for this very reason.
January 31st, 2012 at 8:01 pm
I agree so much with this post. For this month (January), I received about 13,000 views. Last month (December) I received about 16,000 views.
For December I made $31.00
For January I made $14.94
Are you kidding me? I received less than HALF of what I earned this month compared to December despite having only 20% less views. THIS IS CRAZY, and part of the reason why I have very little regrets retiring from this website.
To give a little comparison, an average writer can make about $5 for everyone 1000 views with Google Adsense on other websites (Xomba and Hubpages come to mind). With 13,000 this month I should be receiving at least $65!
What is going on, Triond? What are you doing with everyone’s money?
January 31st, 2012 at 9:40 pm
“I have over 190 poems on this profile, and the only clicks they get is the ones I do myself everyday.” This could one of the reasons article earnings are dropping. Triond does discourage this, stating that it could hurt the relationship between advertisers and the site.
January 31st, 2012 at 9:58 pm
http://writinghood.com/online-writing/todays-693000-bonus-will-keep-me-with-triond-instead-of-yahoo/
I wrote a satire on this. Triond 85 articles, about $5
Yahoo, 2 articles- $18. Paid right away.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:04 am
It would be helpful to have a bit more transparancy about how earnings are generated and then divvied up. Yes, it’s complicated but I’m sure we’re intelligent enough to follow it if Triond bothered to explain.
February 2nd, 2012 at 7:28 pm
Once again – there has been no correspondence from Triond and I guess we are truly are being ignored forever…
February 2nd, 2012 at 10:55 pm
For those of you who want to make money, join Squidoo.com. It’s one of the few article writing websites that have been untouched by the Google panda update. Best part: You can make money and not have to rely on the search engine or views! In fact, the majority of your earnings will be because of QUALITY.
If you’d like more info please message me. This is no scam. You can google Squidoo’s reputation too. They have a ton of faithful followers.
February 4th, 2012 at 5:11 am
I hope they are not trying to screw us over, if so, I will be deleting all of my content and submit it on some of the other publishing websites
February 4th, 2012 at 2:21 pm
Super article. Well-thought-out and beautifully presented argument. Well done, you.
February 19th, 2012 at 10:53 pm
The only real way to make money is to fling your best at magazines, journals, etc. I do know from having earned Google Ad money on some of my web sites that many, if not most, of the Ads pay out pennies only. I know this because Google offered me the chance to place Ads for as little as 25 cents per Ad. It would not surprise me if these are the kind of Ads placed on our article pages. I’m not defending Triond, but I do know this is a reality.
March 4th, 2012 at 8:26 pm
I’m still in shock with the earnings on this site. I remember making descent money here back in 2010. The writing challenges were a plus! I enjoyed them so much.. It felt good to earn a badge! One time I remember going to the cheesecake factory for lunch after cashing my money at a western union. the rest of the money I used to wax my eyebrows. I’m telling you, those were the days!!!
April 1st, 2012 at 1:12 am
I get the same feeling as you. I filed a complaint on getsatisfaction.com earlier this year about the 0.61 USD payment back in December 2011. The Triond employees like Nathan didn’t even bother to reply! Maybe they are instructed to ignore such complaints. But I decided to try a couple of months with Triond before I decided to move to other places.
