Stories can be hard to make especially when you are a starter writer just like me but here are some tips I learnt in the past few years! This is made for a story you are going to write about yourself or someone else!
Opening – Setting the scene
Middle – Main part of the story
Ending – Conclusion
These are the parts of your story and you need to do it bit by bit. It really helps when I follow this as I know what to write in each part.
- Making the Story Personal
Lots of detail on your thoughts and feelings on your progress through the story.
References to “I” and “me” (Only if you’re doing a story about yourself)
Make use of varied vocabulary and frequeent use of adjectives to describe setting, character and feelings.
Smell
Touch
Taste
Sight
Sound
- Accurate grammar, punctuation and spelling
- Re-read your work to check the punctuation errors
- If you used past tense keep it consistent, “I went to the shop.”
- Avoid using “and” or “then”
- Use paragraphs
