Everybody knows how popular reality shows are, and how they can launch an “unknown” into super-stardom virtually overnight. 

There is Big Brother for your wannabe celebrities, X Factor & American Idol for singers, hundreds of cooking programmes and competitions – but what is there for writers?

I think it’s grossly unfair that writers tend to get overlooked and that people tend to forget how important their contributions are..

You have your writers who entertain children, with wonderful and colourful short stories; writers who entertain adults with murder mysteries, thrillers, horrors, science fiction, romantic novels – then you have your writers who write complex storylines for our favour soap operas, dramatic series and comedies and who could forget screenwriters, whose films entertain and enchant us in cinemas.

To help give a bigger profile for writers, I have devised a concept with a view of creating a new TV show which is dedicated to giving up and coming writers a chance of having their story converted into a film.  I have pitched the idea to the TV Writers Vault (of America) and it has already been reviewed by the likes of Spike Digital Entertainment, HBO, Fox & MTV.

I  am hoping that if enough fellow writers show their approval of this concept, I will stand a better chance of  pitching the idea to an agent or television production company and give talented writers around the world an opportunity of showcasing their work.
