Writing Bonus: Is Bukisa Only a Bin to Dump Your Duplicate Articles?

Writing at Bukisa, when it was first started, was lot easier than writing for Triond. And Bukisa (founded one genius Simon Gelfand) is an absolutely wonderful content sharing site. Still many don’t use it for what it is worth. Is Bukisa only a bin to dump your duplicate articles? It certainly is not!

It is Easy to Write for Bukisa

All that Bukisa asks from you is only 250 words for an article. That is minimum word count required. There is also upper limit which is 5000 words in case you end up spending too much on writing.

I have read articles from many writers here and at other sites that say, “Why not? All it takes is to just copy paste your articles and you can earn there too”. Bukisa allows duplicate content not like Triond that wants absolute virginity (pardon my comparison) of your content. That just shows what a genius behind the site is who knows that it does not make you a loser to post duplicate content.

But I do notice complaints from many writers that Bukisa does not get them as many views as Triond. But it does give more eCPM rate than Triond. What these people are forgetting is that they are not treating the site for what it is worth. Bukisa is not a dump-bin to dump your duplicates. One should note that all duplicates won’t perform the same. Promotion is required even for the duplicate like you do for the original one. Even if you promote a duplicate whose original is already doing well, the duplicate will become a competitor for the original. This is however not a big thing to worry about. But the big problem is many search engines are gearing towards treating duplicates in a special way.

Let me tell you the truth that duplicate content is not wrong if you are the author. Nobody has the right to penalize you for posting one. But it is the complicated nature of how articles are auto-picked by search engines or random websites, that makes the duplicates likely to not perform as the original.

It takes only a little more time to write a new or rewrite the old article to freshly post at Bukisa. You can even write a summary of original article of yours in 250 words and post it with a link to original.

In my own case I have build my portfolio at Bukisa with its unique articles. The very first article I wrote is out of so much inspiration which turned out to be true: “How to Start A Successful Writing Career at Bukisa?“. That article alone earned me $0.71 out of 217 views without any promotion.

Bukisa is a Beautiful Content Sharing Site

The beautiful thing about Bukisa is its fast success. This is because the founder genius Simon Gelfand had build an older website articlebase.com which is the second most popular article marketing site. Bukisa like articlebase.com is geared to get views, though in small number, that last for a long time. The buck does not stop there. With the content licensing mechanism in place by default you will release your article with cc-by-sa (attribution and share-alike) license that makes it get promoted automatically as time passes for as long it stays and for as long as the article is helpful. Thus Bukisa must be made good use of.

For Inspiration and Motivation at Bukisa

To help with that I have my first best 7 articles on writing posted at Bukisa that would fill you with inspiration and motivate you to write fast (all you need to write is minimum 250 words);

How to Start A Successful Writing Career at Bukisa?

How Many Proactive Steps Towards Your Success?

How to Write Articles Really Fast?

How Writing as A Process Helps You Avoid Writing Setbacks?

Why You Should Write One-Stop Articles on Any Topic?

Do You Write Complete or Incomplete Articles?

Write Articles Consistently to Write Better Articles and More Articles!

After this I haven’t written any more on writing as they are good enough to motivate even myself when I read them.

In my own case I haven’t posted any duplicate in all 69 articles at Bukisa. To make sure that I used a different pen name. But still these few articles are earning average $0.5 per day since I took break in October 2009 to publish here. Now that was a nice passive income for nine months.

If You can’t but Post Duplicates then..

If you are still hell-bent on posting duplicate content Bukisa, here is one tip that would help you. In article promotion there is one in your control and another out of your control. The things that are out of control are what affect the duplicates most. For example, your article gets “randomly” “picked-up” by various websites or tools. They can be search engines, outbrain.com to post its link at the bottom of a new article. They can be the site itself (Bukisa) or an outside blogger. How this “picked-up” style of promotion happens is totally out of our control. Thus if you notice an original article of yours which is already doing well may not do well if you post its duplicate at Bukisa. How much is the chance that it randomly gets “picked-up”?

What you can do is to sort out your portfolio based on views and list those articles which are not performing well at Triond or other sites where you built portfolio. If you can’t write new articles, then post these bad performing articles. They are as good as freshly posted new articles. Because they are not picked-up by any, not noticed by search engines, as if they don’t exist. Give them a new chance at Bukisa and they may get a life!

Conclusion

I wouldn’t recommend treating Bukisa a dump-bin to post duplicates. It is a wonderful site of its own advantages. With minimum word limit being small it is easy to post new articles. If you can only post duplicates then post the failed articles. Because good performance of an article is most often not by itself.
