Every writer faces writer’s block every now and then and every writer does know that it is inevitable. But you don’t have to worry about it for too long – it does go away, but you have to get your brain into gear for that. Here’s the much easier and quicker way.
How amazing is the internet? If you need help on something, there is always something to write about. You can research them as much as you want and constantly keep writing loads. But what if a writer is faced with the dreaded writer’s block? I know I am now, which is why I’m writing this article. But what if you didn’t know what to do and were just stuck because you couldn’t find anything that interested you enough to research it and write an article. Don’t worry. The amazing internet is here. I’m talking about idea generators!
Yes, you heard me right, idea generators. Idea generators are just simple kinds of software that generate random words to get you thinking. If you don’t want something or you don’t think an idea is right, you can always regenerate more words to get the creative portion of your brain thinking. So here are two very useful sites that have generators in them to help the writers block go away once and for all.

I love this site because it generates loads of simple random words for you but what is even better is that aesthetically, it looks gorgeous! This generator is probably most suited to information articles where you can go on to use the 3 words to aid you and you can research if you find the three words useful. Normally the three words make a short phrase to get you thinking or researching. I love this loads, even though I don’t really use it much because it does get you thinking which is very essential, when it comes to the writer’s worst nightmare – the writers block.

This is a really incredible site for short stories, fictions, flash fictions and any other type of creative writing in the story form. Here, there are loads of generators, right from generating the setting to the names of the characters so literally, this site does your dirty work for you, leaving you to look at the ideas you like and write away. It isn’t the prettiest looking site, but if you are terribly stuck for ideas, I’d recommend this site because it immediately does away with all of the doubts you’ve had with writing more stories.

There are loads of other random idea generators on the internet but the best quality, according to me, comes from these two. These two really make you think about what you want to write and the best bit is, they cater for both non fictions and fictions. There are plenty of other generators on the internet that cover short stories or story plots but these two are the best that will make sure that you can get on with your work without any stress. The first ideas generator is designed to make you think and that is necessary although the second story idea generator seems to do your work for you. Either way, don’t forget that your motivation and creativity is the real cure for writer’s block and these two sites are just your fast track to reaching that momentum and imagination. Hope these two sites can release the dreaded writer’s block!

A great article Atikin. Funny you should mention the “seventhsanctum” I use it all the time. Although, never looked at it as a “writer’s block cure” – more for entertainment. lol

No doubt these are very useful sites. I try to do the same thing with pencil and paper. The idea is just to start writing again. Good work.

Just had a play around on 7th Sanctum! Most amusing, though some of the names generated were a little dull perhaps? Great for inspiration though!

Maybe we could create our own generators on Triond? When someone is stuck for a name/place/company etc, we could all submit ideas for the person who needs it!
