Will Triond Make History this May?

May two – In case you miss the changes on your dashboard (or you happen to glance at them but leave the act as it is – glance), there’s a new thing going on Triond.

I’m still a little over a month here on Triond but I’m not your lousy lurker who doesn’t seem to spot the difference between a good and a bad article, if I caption it right.

For over a month, many have published articles trying to voice out their views on how the site should get ahead and make improvements especially on the quality of contents published. For all we know, too often we encounter poorly-written articles flooding our news feed (I might excuse myself if this one happens to be tailing the same flow). Well, this May Quality Challenge might just part the Red Sea giving the aisle to REALLY good articles. This is a competition of a sort and winning articles on the Top Content will surely set another benchmarks for others to emulate.

Though I believe this will set another trend, I have these questions in mind:

1. How will Top Content distinguish itself from Hot Content? Could it be possible that the same persons in the latter list reserve the honor to be the same names in Top Content? At least Triond has made it clear that the Top Content would contain 10 articles; unlike the variable number of qualifiers in the Hot Content list.

2. Will Triond deem this challenge as important as health that they will make it a regular feature? That would have to mean monthly. Undoubtedly, cost-benefit analysis would suggest it’d make Triond a better site, if not the best (seems like it now has the unique features of almost every writing site out there).

3. Will they show an up-to-date list of the top 100 qualifiers as well? Or just the top 10? The announcement says “we will give away $5 for each article of the top 100 that will generate the highest average viewing time” while further saying  ”To help you out, we will be adding a new section on the Dashboard that is called “Top Content” which will show the top 10 articles leading in the average viewing time criteria.” I need to be enlightened more.

4. Does writing a 1,000-word article with only a few views have an edge over a 100-word article with a good number of views?

I will end it here. I don’t want to look like an announcement recap. Good writers, see you on the list (not that I expect my name to be there). I’m just excited to see who makes the difference.
