Why My Voice is Important

I had written this article to try to get a job. I made a pretty good article.

There are many reasons why my voice is important. For starters, even though I’m traditionally a shy person, I have a lot to say. I have knowledge somewhere in this brain even though my memory is poor when it comes to recalling some of this data. I generally have something to say even though I don’t say much. Just like when people say silence speaks volumes; that it can be deafening, even. I think being a writer is a perfect occupation for a shy person. You can have partial anonymity if a picture doesn’t accompany the article or whatever. I’ve once mentioned in an article that my writing career was a “life within a life.” Actually, I stole the phrase from a self-help poetry book, but I think it fits. You don’t really need much to write but pen and paper or paper and typewriter. Thank goodness technology continues to change and evolve to make our lives much easier. Easier to be heard and read and reach a wider audience. I know I was all over the place, but you get the idea I’m trying to portray about why my voice is important. If you still need clarification, enjoy reading my writing and want to know more, read on.

Another reason why my voice is important is to literally tell my story. First of all, I hate it when people speak up for me. Or they talk like I’m not even there or incapable of talking. Stuff like that just infuriates me. I’ve been told people love to talk about themselves…and I am one of those people. I know more about me than family, friends and mere strangers combined. Haven’t you ever heard “Straight from the horse’s mouth?” If you want truth…about me…and you hear me talking about me, then it must be true, wouldn’t it? I’m excluding pathological liars from this article because I don’t have time for gossip and foolishness. Anyway, outside of my Clubhouse, I don’t disclose much information about myself unless I know the person (or people) for a long time. I like the give-and-take approach. I’ll share something and the other person would have to share something. As long as everyone is comfortable enough. Thank goodness I’m a writer because one example of sharing what I have been through was to write my recovery story. You’ve probably heard recovery when dealing with substance abuse, but in my case, it has to do with my mental illness. I’m living with schizo affective disorder. My recovery story, “The Beautiful Struggle,” is basically about what I went through from that cold, December night up to the present. It doesn’t really have an ending because obviously, I’m still living my life (Thank God). I have written articles since then. Some were on a certain computer, but they aren’t there anymore. I just hope and pray that I have the originals. Anyway, I hope this little article shed some light on who I am and the type of writer you could have on staff.
