People say to me, "Dejan, why do you waste your time writing online?". I answer them simply. Firstly I write because its relaxing to be able to get things off my chest and write about them. I enjoy all the practice I get at honing my writing skills, and also the ability to publish my work online as part of the learning process. Do I do this for money? I don’t! I don’t think ill ever make enough money to make my online writing profitable, at least no where near enough to cover the sheer hours I spend typing my material. But its a good thing I get exactly what I seek out of this online writing experience; practice, exposure, and fun!
My content takes hours to write. I spend a good hour editing my work at the very least. Whenever i finish my material, I’m exhausted mentally. Do you know why that is? Its because when i write an article here on Triond, i put my everything into the material. I ensure i capture my emotion, thought and vision as clearly as i could. This all takes time, energy, and skill. An article that takes me three hours to type is equivalent to about two minutes of your reading time! What this means is that I’m dedicating hours of my time and energy to write material that is personal to me, that’s also well thought out, and i do it all in the name of sharing with you, my readers. You see that in itself speaks volumes as to why i chose to write on the online arena. I type, i publish, and two minutes later, you read. Its this ongoing cycle that makes my writing worthwhile, and makes online writing so attractive to me.
People go, ‘Well if your good with words, write a book!’. The problem with that is simple, writing, and publishing a book doesn’t mean squat in relations to the exposure your material will receive. With online writing its just about guaranteed you’ll get readership! Whereas if you self publish a book, you’d go to hell and back getting anybody to read your material, yet alone attract the readership you’d expect from the net. Anyone can write a book, even publish, the question being, does writing a book necessarily equate readership?, you’d find that it doesn’t. It also doesn’t mean that book material is in any way superior to well written online content. Don’t ever get coned into thinking online writing is second grade to book publishing. This is a great misconception, and an idea that greatly undermines the absolute opportunity, and pleasure that online writing provides for us.
Why we write varies person to person. What matters is that we take this awesome outlet and utilise it properly, to achieve readership for our material. Money shouldn’t be the first goal, exposure should. Triond is swamped with spamming, thieving little pests. The people that use software to spin articles and thus create newly minced up content for their use. This lowers the standard of material for Triond and other sites. This is just the sad minority, who lack the skill and vision it takes to create good written material. Don’t let these pests deter your online writing aspirations. Don’t ever underestimate the power of the net and its ability to gain you mass readership.
To wrap this up, my final words would be. Practice, practice, and practice. Write as much as you can, and about whatever comes to mind. Overtime you’ll become more efficient with your time, and your written quality will improve. Your readership base will grow, and with readership, money. This all takes time. It takes time to grow as writers, just as it takes time and patience to establish ourselves as real deal writers. Your not making much on Triond? Fine, but ask yourself, are people reading your material? If they are, give yourself a pat on the back, and keep writing!
Karl Marx spent his whole life writing, and he lived in poverty. Was he remembered as a rich man? No. Was he remembered as a man whose philosophies and literary works helped shape the world as we know it? More so than any other author of all time! Stay true to yourself as an writer, and never give up on your online writing endeavours. We are truly lucky in this technological age!

Writing is like a therapy for me. I would agree with what you said that it’s relaxing though after finishing an article you may find it a bit exhausting. But the feeling of being able to put your thoughts into words, publishing it and people sharing their thoughts as well is very fulfilling.
