People are different, and that’s absolutely okay. In fact no two people are alike on this wonderful planet Earth. Have you come across people who are adamant to the core and are bigoted in their views? Everyone of us is adamant about something sometimes and that’s also absolutely okay. But, if someone thinks they are always right and never tries to look at the other person’s point of views, they are adamant. It’s the height of ego and self pride, isn’t it so? So, why are people so adamant? Please keep reading……
Adamant but not ignorant: Ignorant people can be adamant about their views. It’s quite acceptable. Here what we can do is, help them to get rid of their ignorance. Then they may come out of their ignorance and become flexible. Nevertheless I am more concerned about the intelligent and adamant people. They think they know everything and not open to other person’s views. Normally these people don’t judge something on its merits, but they judge something based on who is telling it. In other words, these people have that obsession that they are more intelligent than most others and hence will not accept their mistakes when the so called less intelligent people points them out. At one point they will even understand they are wrong but will never accept it. On the other hand, they would have a list of people that are more intelligent than them and would blindly believe whatever nonsense they might say. I would like to give an example to make myself clear. Triond is choosing the Hot Content article not by its merit but by the author they like.

Why are people so adamant? Ego is the main reason for this behavior. Adamant people always want to score points over the opponents. Their this behavior may be due to the bad upbringing or may be its their nature by birth. They have big ego and they think they could never be wrong. Some of them may realize they are wrong while arguing with their opponents yet they will stick on to their view points. It will be a big loss of face for them if they accept their mistakes. They can’t bear a blow on their king-sized ego. People we love, may behave like this sometimes. Does it mean they don’t love us back? May be they love us less than we love them.
Being stubborn is different from adamancy: Some people may confuse stubbornness with adamancy. Gandhiji was stubborn and determined in his cause, the freedom of India and with this stubbornness led India to independence.
Summary: Some people are adamant about their views. There are several reasons for this behavior. Let us be stubborn for good causes but never be adamant. Thanks for reading.

Wow! very well-said. I agree with your points. I know people like this and there comes a point that you just have to give up because they are too close-minded and you will never change their views. You are right! It’s all about ego and selfish pride. As far as hot content, I think it has to do with preference as well.
