As writers we all want to be read! An easy way to get others to view your articles on Triond is to give them your views. But what do you do when someone doesn’t return your views?
Before we proceed any further in this article, I would like to point out the difference between view and read in relation to Triond. View means quickly scan through the article or column, or just open the article or column page. Read means go through the article in detail.
As writers we all want to be read! As writers on Triond we also want views! Views are after all directly linked to our earnings here! Even if there is no fixed figure for the ratio between views and earnings. Higher views means greater the possibility of earning…even if it’s just a few cents that Triond throws your way!
An easy way to get others to view your articles on Triond is to give them your views. But what do you do when someone doesn’t return your views?
1) Continue giving views and hope the person will return your favour someday?
2) Give some more views and request the person to return your favour, once more?
3) Remind the person you have given views and ask them to return them back?
4) Demand for your views to be returned?
5) Forget about it?
6) Don’t give the person any more views?
7) Don’t give the person any more views and never look at his/her articles again?
Read articles which attract your attention irrespective of who has written them?
9) Complain about the person not returning your views?
10) Beg the person to return your views?
Personally, I choose option 2, 5, and 8.
When we give views on Triond, it is important to remember that no writer on Triond is under any obligation whatsoever to return the views. Neither to reply to your message. If someone returns your views and agrees with you, then you two could get into some sort of a mutual exchange or view swap program. And if someone doesn’t respond to you, please don’t keep pestering them to return your views.

I agree – 2,5 and 8 are the better options. I would never beg anyone to view or return views – but I think it’s important for our community to be a fair as we can to other writers.

Good advice. Personally I do try to read the work of my friends who take time to read mine. I add them to my feed. But I am not always able to read everything and I do not expect it from my friends either. I also do not like the “I read 10, 20…” arrangments because I do not always have time to read that much and it would not be any quality reading anyway…

Well said and quite right. I too choose options 2,5 and 8. And I always read articles that grab my attention despite who writes them. As always, this is a great read and I will view it tomorrow

I don’t think the reciprocated views work at all.
Over the past few weeks I have received 20 and 30 views a DAY. I was viewing 150 easily a day. I have 25,000 friends and 3,000 referrals.
I use the Triond ‘Like’ system so authors can easily see that I visited because no one ‘likes’ on Triond, so I can honestly and confidently say those likes are from me.
I also would view an authors oldest articles and put likes on them, again, there is no argument about who gave those ‘likes’. I can tell many authors how many likes they have on their very oldest articles, for instance, your oldest don’t have over 30 on them and some barely 20.
I am not going to be doing this any longer. Yes, I am going to patronize those that I have always patronized but in a natural sense.
One thing I did notice was even when I received really low views, I used to get 500 or more each day, is that my income didn’t actually die down to nothing. The views I received must have been organic from Google.
I believe the best way to get views is to draw them to your articles from Google by using tried and true techniques to get organic traffic.

If a person reads mine,I will read some of their artiles. If I keep commenting because I genuinely like their articles and they never once read mine, I would read anyway as I have a lot of time on my hands and wat to help people make money.

I’m a big fan of #8. It encourages quality writing. I’m here for the reads rather than the views. Personally I don’t have the time or computer speed to make view swapping work, but if it works for you…to each his own…

How can you tell Who is viewing you? I for one cannot be bothered telling people I am clicking em. The SEO advocates claim Google Views are what count. They would be appalled at **click clubs**. Interesting stuff.

Interesting views lol

I never expect people to return views and in turn although I will try to return views I don’t expect people to get antsy if I forget or don’t get round to it.I’d far prefer people to read mya rticles because they are interested in what I am writing because I only write what I’m interested in sharing. I also get irritated by messages telling me that I should read articles or alerting me to articles – I come from several sites where that is considered very bad form!

I try to read what I can, when I can. God bless to those who view/read my work too.

I’m all or nothing: options 1 and 6.

I like to regularly do some reading on Triond. I read mostly what captures my interest in the newsfeed and popular article boxes, and I make an effort to visit the articles of friends who comment, but I don’t get discouraged if the favor is not returned. Sometimes people go through periods when other things demand their time. If things get too quiet, I recruit some new friends, but continue to read whatever interests me.

I try to read from as many people as possible.

I agree with your advise. I’m returning yours

As each before me have stated, I must agree this is a great article and people are unpredictable…

I like option 8 the most.

I do read other writers articles whenever I have a chance, because I’d say that I can’t log on for long, and still searching for a day job. If I do 10 at a given time is because I don’t have much time left to do more. But I always choose on those who correspond too, and I know well when they do it too. Thanks for sharing!

I am a 5 and 8 : ) That’s the plain truth. Great article!
