Give these tips a try so that your writing gets more exposure!

OK. So, we all write about different topics, right? Some topics may come natural to us, some through our education, and some we may have personal experience living through and witnessing. Whatever our nitch, we love writing about it. When I was a baby, as soon as I was able to cling onto something I did, and it was a pen! When I first got my hands on a note pad, I wouldn’t let that go either! When I started walking, I had a pencil AND note pad with me everywhere I went. If you had something interesting to tell me, I’d listen and I’d pass along my “doodle” report to my mom. My parents told me that my grandfather told everyone when I was about three years old, that I’d be one of the 2 J’s, a judge or a journalist. My grandfather would keep telling me that for years, and how proud he was of me with my writing. I am so very honored that he would envision such greatness for me at an early age. He is gone now, but he greatly influenced my life in countless positive ways. We had a connection as I’ve not had with anyone else in my life unfortunately, but his lessons have brought me here today, such as the one that makes me follow through with whatever I’m trying to accomplish. Failure is always going to happen at some point, but it’s what each and everyone of us does, to ensure getting closer to our dreams.
I have been a writer all of my life. I’ve gone through many things, observed strangers(or strange) behavior, learned from people I know and caught up with the latest on Nancy Grace when I could. If I have experienced it, could think it, see it, watch it, hear it or smell it, I’ve probably covered it! My life has lead me here as it always has, by my passion to write. How many questions have you asked yourself since writing on triond? Do I think that I will attract readers? Do I think that I will have followers? Do I think that I can touch upon issues that will make a difference in others lives? Can I attain my goal of drawing you in, so that you FEEL my words as though I speak to YOU? These are what I hope to accomplish here by writing about “my life.”
So, what can we do when we see that “our topic” is not getting read? Give the following a try:
Controversy never hurt anyone. I’m not telling you to go out and do anything crazy! But, sometimes you need to make a bold leap in order to get noticed. If you are writing about a topic from your point of view, add in the other side, even if it creates a ruckus. This doesn’t give you free will to be discriminatory and offensive, but challenge people, you’d be surprised with the interest you’d get.
You have a name that you use so other can identify you, right? So, you want to get well known? Found? Cross over to other areas. Trying linking your topic to different subject matter. Do you love cars? Write about your life with all the cars you’ve owned in AuthSpot, an article for History on your first vehicle, or research the car industry for BizCovering. When people are interested, they will find you.
I prefer to do most of my writing in public places, and the benefit is that I always meet new people. For years now, people see me doing my writing and they are curious. This is an opportunity to get them interested. You can give them your card that has the triond webpage and your user name, if you do feel that they are sincere, interested and just not trying to pick you up! Of course, do I need to warn you? Don’t put any other personal information on that business card!
I have always been one to lead by my intuition, and it has always worked out very well for me. I guess this is, because I have cultivated a great relationship within myself and I choose to always be aware of each experience in my life. Whatever I write, I try to take it somewhere else, to take it to a new level, one that even I wouldn’t have expected. Sometimes you’ll be in that “zone,” follow it and see where it takes you.
If you stay comfortable, you’ll stay mediocre. If you are a “hit” congratulations! If you are a “miss,” you need to get out of that comfort zone and shake things up!
I wish everyone great success! Good luck!
