What is a good word count to aim for when writing articles online?
Writing articles online is a tough business, and in order to do really well with it, you need to be able to write as fast and as well as you possibly can. Setting up an average or goal length for each article is a good idea that forces you to summarize your work and keep it quick while still getting the point across.
Writing long articles is not necessarily a good thing, as many people will lose interest after the first few paragraphs. The Internet has shortened everyones attention span, and articles need to be much shorter then in print if you want to get them read.
My goal length per article is around 350-500 words. This is an easy length for me, something that I can do without really trying, since I’ve been doing it for so long, and it keeps it relatively short without sacrificing article quality. It also allows enough room for advertisements to show up and earn me some money.
Setting your own article length is something that you need to figure out for yourself, in order to make the whole writing process easier for you. The more you write, the more you earn.
