Triond is an excellent tool for beginning writers who want to gain both experience and income.  Triond is a website that pays its writers based on page views.  Unlike Associated Content, Triond only accepts original unpublished articles.  After being reviewed by their editorial staff, your articles will be posted on a variety of different websites.  The exciting thing is that they match your writing to the needs of specific sites.  For example, an article that I wrote called The Vegetarian Wedding Reception was published on a site called BeyondJane which offers advice from writers on topics that concern women (like relationships and weddings).

My article Life in The Dark Ages: What? No Cable Television? about my life as a teenager in the early 1980s was published on a site called Socyberty dedicated to exploring society.

Triond’s website is simple and easy to use unlike some of its competitors.  Its main benefit over other sites is its “Dashboard” which gives you a quick snapshot of your recently published articles, your earnings, and trends.  The nice thing about the Trends chart is that it shows you the total number of page views per day and arranges those figures on a graph.  You can also click on tabs to quickly and easily view your content, earnings, and account (among other things).

It is my goal to support myself as a freelance writer.  I recently quit my job to work from home full-time.  One of the things I learned is that sites like Triond are not a “get rich quick” scheme; it will take much dedication and consistency on your part before your earnings start to increase.  The bottom line is that it is worth the effort.

Anyone who wants to be a professional writer can achieve those dreams with Triond.  Some sites, like textbroker.com, sell all rights to your work so you can never view or re-publish them.  Other sites, like Suite101, put you through a lengthy application process and only accept your works if they feel your education, experience, and expertise are extensive enough.  With Triond, as long as you submit original, unpublished, well-crafted, high-quality writing, they will find a home for it.

I highly recommend Triond, not only for the income stream your articles generate, but also because it helps you build your portfolio as a writer.  It is helpful because they allow you to gain the experience as a writer that you need to succeed.  From personal experience, I can tell you that I feel a great sense of pride when I check my profile page and see all the articles that have been accepted.
