Blogs: the libraries of today.
Writing a book is a difficult task. It may take months, even years to finish it. Writing books is more than a hobby: it’s a lifestyle. It requires patience, dedication, etc. And also luck. It is not easy to get your book published, not to say, become a best-seller. A writer’s life is not easy.
But nowadays, we are all writers. We don’t sit for years in a desk trying to make a perfect book. We just enter Internet and we become writers. Thousands of people may read our works but we won’t know. We don’t have to get the copyright of what we write, we don’t have to wait to see our work in libraries. We just write, and in an instant, we become writers. We don’t need special preparation, we don’t even need to know how to write correctly, for the compute makes that for us.
But is this as good as it sounds? Perhaps not. Being so easy to publish tons of writings to the Internet may lead us to despise real writers, believing it is not such a hard thing to write a book, although it is. For example, if a writer makes a mistake, and his/her editor fail to notice it, the book may be printed with the mistake in it. On the other hand, if we, on-line writers, make a mistake, we can just edit what we wrote with no difficulty.
But what can I say, this is the world of today. Technology consumes everything. And that is what makes me think: are we seeing the last years of printed books? Who knows. Only time can tell.
