Triond Payments – are They Fair?

Many write on Triond to make money. Fact is – few make money regardless of how much time they spend on Triond and how many articles they write.

I’ve been on Triond for many years now and I know how much Freelance writers in the “real world” are paid as I have written for magazines, getting £50 for 200 words and £189 for 2,000 words which is a 2 page feature.  I got more for providing 2 photos to include.

People are writing on Triond for various reasons.  Some think they will make money.  The truth is that regardless of how much SEO – search engine optimisation that our tags generate, how much we share links to our work, and how long we spend on Triond liking, commenting and viewing other people’s work, the fact is… None of this gets us more views and none of it makes us a decent amount of money.

Check this out:

FACT – you need to get 10,000 views to make $10.  That is chicken feed as they say in the US of A.  If you are on Triond for the money, it really isn’t here.  All the articles about How To Make More On Triond are rubbish.  They are just there to get you to read them and are not true.  You can never make big bucks on Triond.

You can make a lot of nice friends though.  How about messaging a few readers for a change and getting to know them?

You can build up your writing skills here and keep in practice.  That is if you are not one of those who plagiarise every news item that hits the headlines, or one who uses Google Translate to convert things from your own language into English to post on Triond to try to make yourself money.

Triond is full of people who have many different motivations to be here.

I’m not in it for the money.  There is none to be made here.  I’m just a disabled woman with nowhere to go and time to kill.  I’m just a sometimes paid freelance writer who makes money occasionally from doing that, and fact is… I’m just on Triond because I like it.  I keep up my writing skills here.  I meet some nice new friends here.  Money?  I make that elsewhere and will not kid anyone into thinking there is a way to make more on Triond when the truth is Triond are making money out of us!

very nice article i noticed that also. i think triond do not pay anymore 50:50 or sites pay to them less, so they paid to us less. but….. you are lucky….. i have over 7000 vievs and i earn triple less than you this month. Do not know what to say. But you know the best on triond is to read and to get informations, besides here are good people. That is most important to me

You are quite right, if people are expecting to make a living off of Triond, they are dreaming. However, I think a lot of people are concerned with the steady decline in earnings. Personally, I didn’t expect to make much from Triond, but, when my Adsense was messed up, I realized that writing here was a waste of time.

I asked Triond about this and they refused to give me an answer or fix the problem. If they didn’t know, they could have said that. That let me know that they didn’t care about me, so, I figure why continue to write here. I would never tell anyone that they will get rich at Triond, but, just use it as a stepping stone, learn from others, then, move into other more profitable areas.

Honest article. Yes, Triond is a platform for the beginner and also the experienced to show off their talents. It is unfortunate that there is no real transparency from Triond staff on certain issues.

People think this uprising is about money, but in truth this is about a company stating they are paying you 50% revenue share, and that all you have to do is increase your views to make more money. I have personally increased my views more than triple in a months time, but my earnings have gone down. I use an alternate profile where I click my own work on 190 articles and I make more money that way then on a profile where I am getting over 300 views a day. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but when my friends start leaving for other sites because they feel they are being ripped off how fun is Triond going to be then. Seriously wake up your eyes and acknowledge the problem. Apathy like this is why Triond is getting away with things.

Triond is not even paying $1 per 1000 page views , it’s less than that. and the traffic to your Triond articles is dropping fast.

The money is not there you are so right. I never intended to become a writer in any sort of way, I started out trying to help keep people informed about current health concerns an then slowly it drifted to different areas. It is the fun, the friendships and the experience. Sometimes I write ok and sometimes I mess up. Great article.

Agree and I liked reading this: “the truth is Triond are making money out of us!” though I liked Triond. I enjoy writing here not for money but also for love.

For sure, writing for Triond is not going to make anyone rich. Most are lucky to get pennies per day. There are a few people that I correspond with through messages and I guess that’s why I stay.

Very good and you are right. There is no big money. I think getting 10,000 views in a month, as you have, is very good. That hasn’t just happened, you’ve worked at it, put the hours in.

You haven’t been rewarded well but I think that’s just the way the Internet works – there is no big money for content suppliers which is what we are.

So if you don’t enjoy it there’s just no point. Nothing is going to change. You are not Mr Google, Or Mr Triond, or Ms Huffpost

Finally someone who is willing to tell the truth about making money on Triond being a pipe dream. There have been a few others who stated there is not any money to be made here, and like most of them have stated I’m here for the friends I have made here. Thanks for sharing.

I so agree with everything you say, Rosetta. Triond do pay poorly. However, I’m here mainly because of the great bunch of friends I have on triond – including you of course, dear girl.

You’re right. This is about COMMUNITY not money. Still, if Philly and Immkarn and Avissado set up a petition, I WILL sign it. This is political – and it’s about a fair deal. Triond need to wake up to the talent they’ve got around them.

Rosie – if i got 10.00 for 10,000 views – i’d be happy. I had over 11,000 views in jan and will receive a grand total of $7.35 and i don’t write poems or recipes..Well said, Rosie!

I totally agree with you. I never expected to be able to live on my earnings here, but honestly having to reach to 10,000 views to get $10 is…. way too much, to put it kindly. I’d appreciate you to read my latest articles on the issue and tell me whether I’m right or not. Thanks for sharing!
