Triond Inspiration: Write More, Earn More

Many of the writers on Triond are looking to make a supplementary monthly income on the site. As many will have told you before, the key to earning more is to write well and to write often. If you don’t publish new articles regularly, you’ll lose your audience and your traffic. An article that is a few years old will rarely see the same kind of views as an article that is brand new. If you want to earn as much as you can, you’ll need to write regularly.

New Work Gets Views

Your newest work will generally be among your most viewed. As articles get older, the number of views they get will generally declined. Writing new, current pieces will generally generate you a sizeable number of views in a very short time. My most popular article at the moment, Four Must-Have PS3 Games for Christmas 2009, was written in mid-August. So far this month, it has received more than 2471 views and has earned me over $6.50. If that rate of views continues until Christmas this year, I’ll have earned approximately $15.00 in just November and December through that article or over $20.00 since I wrote it. That might not seem like much, but if a single article can earn your $5.00 per month on average, think about what you could do with 100 or more articles.

Expand Your Portfolio

The more articles you have, the bigger your portfolio is. The bigger your portfolio is, the more scope you have for receiving traffic. Writing new articles regularly is the key to earning more money. If you don’t have work to be viewed, you won’t be getting views to be paid. If you are writing a series of articles, providing links to your old ones in your new ones can get you a lot of extra views that you wouldn’t otherwise have gotten. Those extra views will give you extra cash.

Write on the Right Sites

If you want to make loads of money on Triond, writing on sites like AuthSpot won’t really earn you much in terms of royalties. The highest paying sites seem to be Trifter, Gameolosophy and Gomestic, at least in my personal experience. During this month, most of my articles on Gameolosophy have been earning an average of $2.50-$2.75 per 1000 views. That is a sizeable bit of each. If you can get 20 views per day per article (which isn’t really all that many), 100 articles on Gameolosophy will comfortably earn you $5.00+ daily. That equates to over $1800 per year.
