Triond experiences big drop in traffic after the Google panda updates. Subsequently all Triond writers’s earnings went down significantly. Many Triond writers began to show their dis satisfaction in their articles and comments. At one stage Triond heard its members’ complaints and started to act upon them. It’s a good sign and though the changes made by Triond are not impressive, it gives us new hopes for the revamping of this wonderful site. Triond is certainly a great writing site with unique characters. Triond is in a bit of difficult situation now. It’s the time we should all stand by Triond and help the site to get back its reputation with Google and traffic. Triond listens to us, Triond acts upon our grievances. Please continue reading…..
I do agree there are many issues unsolved on Triond: No one is perfect and there is nothing completely flawless in this world. Most Triond members are unhappy about the poor quality content, spam content, overly promotional content, abusive content and adult content on Triond. Google hates all these stuff like anything and hence rated Triond low when it updated quality changes in February 2011. Triond’s traffic was not hit much in February as thousands of articles were posted for the February special bonus offer. All Triond writers experienced a heavy drop in page views and subsequently in their earnings from March onwards. I guess these are the main issues of Triond. I do believe Triond is keen on solving these issues and working towards it.

The biggest advantage of writing for Triond: I love Triond for the freedom it gives to its writers. You can’t enjoy such freedom in any other writing site. You can even write an article “Triond is a scam” and they would publish it. They allowed to write adult content, spam, abusive content. You can write about almost anything you like, there is no restriction at all. You can write anything against Triond, they would publish it too. We need to appreciate Triond for the freedom it has given to us.
So, what can be done now: I think it’s of no use blaming the site or the fellow writers now. It’s all over and now we need to think of the solutions rather than blaming each other. Triond seems to be a bit too emotional and so can’t take the right actions to revamp the site. They introduced flag button first that definitely brought some good changes. We don’t see “hot adult content” in hot content these days, is it not a welcome change? Triond looks clean and great now. There is nothing wrong in talking and writing about sex as long as it id done in a separate site. Sex educative articles can be even helpful to many readers. I think Triond should start a separate site to publish adult content without displaying Google ads on this site. As far as the flag button, of course there are some disadvantages in using it, time alone can tell whether it has more advantages than disadvantages. Triond should use a better algorithm to choose the hot content articles as hot content reflects the quality of the site.
What can we do now? We should work hard to publish quality and useful articles. We should avoid adult content, spam content and abusive content. We should try our best to post Google friendly articles. Let us not blame Triond or our fellow writers and work united to make Triond the best writing site on the web. When Triond grows, we will also grow along with it. We will be able to make decent income then.
Flagging 15 articles to get bonus: Today Triond announced that we need to flag at least 15 articles to become eligible for August bonus rewards, that to me is not at all appealing. I am sure most of us won’t like to flag 15 articles to earn bonus. Flagging should not be made a fun game, it’s dangerous. It should be used only when there is a serious issue with an article. If an article is flagged many times its author should be given a chance to rectify the mistakes and republish it. Until that time, Triond can make the article not visible to the public. Triond can’t afford to lose articles and writers. At the same time quality and other demands have to be met. I would rather lose my bonus than using the flag button against a Triond member unnecessarily.

Summary: Triond is sincerely making some changes to rebuild its reputation and image. We need to extend our support to Triond at this crucial time and help them fix the issues at the earliest. I am sure Triond will regain its traffic soon and its writers will be able to make reasonable income in the coming days. Thanks for reading.

I won’t be participating in this months challenge as I’s rather give my views to people who work hard and deserve it. Thanks for the good read.
July 31st, 2011 at 3:06 pm
Here’s hoping that Triond gets its act together before they lose all their quality writers.
July 31st, 2011 at 3:15 pm
It’ll always be a challenge for Triond. They’re so many competing sites, but I plan to stick with it. v. good post!
July 31st, 2011 at 3:29 pm
Good post! I agree that we must stay a family here at Triond. Getting to carried away with this “flagging” could cause negative outcomes if not used in the proper way. I think that before we do “flag” an article we should at least send an email or a message to the writer saying what we think is wrong with the article and perhaps provide solutions to fix the problem to that particular article.
In every family there should and must be communication so before anyone “flags” they should open the door for communication and try and fix the issue.
Thank you for the post!

I have to say I do agree with what you have written here.
July 31st, 2011 at 5:10 pm
I too agree that bonuses shouldn’t be given for flagging other articles. I am not the content police…what I am though is sick and tired of the spammers.Spammers suck the joy out of writing on this site and they are like a rock around ones ankle in 7 feet of water.
July 31st, 2011 at 5:18 pm
A very powerful write. The only thing I don’t like is the flag button because there are people that will be flagging stuff inappropriately. Anyone who flags content inappropriately will not be allowed to write. (August special) You are so right. there are very unique characters here on this site. I llike the special because it gives us writers the chance to earn more revenue & earn a colorful badge. I think it should have been the same as in the past: 10-15 articles only in selected sites & badge at the end of the month if you meet requirements/ no flagging. maybe you can suggest this to the triond team.
July 31st, 2011 at 7:40 pm
I like the 5 articles 10%, but dislike the flagging. If I really want to flag, there are many, especially poems, because for poems, usually those who write will understand what they write, for those who don’t understand the contents, will think they are nonsense, it depend on how people look at them.
By the way, will the victim know who are the people who flag?
Also, for humor articles, may be taken as nonsense too, for those serious people who don’t appreciate jokes, what you think, Vijay?
Thanks for sharing, very well written here.

I can understand your feelings lene21, thanks.
July 31st, 2011 at 9:51 pm
hi, ashan1614I do hope so. Triond has great scope to rebuild its reputation.
July 31st, 2011 at 9:53 pm
You are right, erwinkennythomas, Triond is good in many ways, so better to stick to it, hope it would pick up the traffic once again soon.
July 31st, 2011 at 9:55 pm
That’s a good idea Freelance Writer and News Reseacher. I do personally don’t like an article being removed without giving the author a chance to correct the mistakes.I know how much hard work an author puts into an article.
July 31st, 2011 at 9:56 pm
Thanks drdavaughn.

Hi, Erin Miller, Glad you liked the article. You always are frank and bold in posting your comments
July 31st, 2011 at 10:14 pm
Hi, The Quail 1957, I don’t like the idea of flagging 15 articles to get August bonus.
I do agree with you that it’s not easy to differentiate between adult content and sex educative content.Unfortunately Google might rate even the sex educative articles as adult content.
Adult content is to be avoided for two reasons. 1. We can’t open Triond pages when children are around. It gives a cheap image to Triond. 2. Google does not like this stuff (This is the main reason I don’t want it on Triond)
And again how will you rate the quality of an article? For example, an article has useful information and search engine friendly but with Simple English, will it have to be tagged as poor quality?
All these problems will be there when you flagging is allowed.
Only solution to this is a human editor must decide on the flagged article and Triond has promised to do. If Triond can do this, I think things will improve, let us wait and see.
I personally don’t like the idea flagging 15 articles.
But Triond seems to have started to act, so I want to stand by it.
July 31st, 2011 at 10:15 pm
yes Freethinking, it’s not a good idea to police content of other authors.
July 31st, 2011 at 10:18 pm
Thanks Love Doctor for your response.
Triond’s earnings has gone down, that’s one of the reasons they have announced a flat 10% bonus. 10% will not make a big difference, yet it motivates the writers to contribute more in the month.
July 31st, 2011 at 10:21 pm
Hi, Starpisces, nobody likes the idea of flagging 15 articles for bonus.
Poems and humor articles may not attract traffic and earn revenue enough.
The victim will not know who flagged his/her article.
July 31st, 2011 at 10:59 pm
Yes, there is so much freedom in Triond. Well said.
July 31st, 2011 at 11:46 pm
Its a welcome change that triond has almost eliminated adult contents and its ads on our articles. When I joined in April, I avoided giving the link for my articles to my friends, just because of the odd pictures they displayed on my pages. Now they have stopped it, to our great relief. But relating the August bonus with flagging is an absurd idea. Hope they will withdraw it.
August 1st, 2011 at 2:17 am
I hear you my friend. I just think there’s a better way of doing this. And you might want to read the article which Mystical White wolf just put out… It concerns the laws accordingly of writers as well as publishers responsibilities here on the internet.
Those flagging others really need to read these laws before deciding to flag falsely! They and Triond both could lose a lot more then the simple bonus.
The law is the law and must be considered carefully before acting. In the case of being falsely flagged and accused all individuals can be subpoena and the true identity of all involved can be made known.
Triond, you, me no matter who, is above the law! I just want everyone to be able to make an informed decision before deciding to push that button. Class action suit, may ring a bell or two?
August 1st, 2011 at 2:30 am
It is good effort from Triond. Let’s do the best to bring back Triond reputation
August 1st, 2011 at 3:54 am
I am crossing my fingers hoping Triond will be just like the old writing site I know then.
August 1st, 2011 at 6:37 am
I think Triond is trying hard to put things right but I too am worried about using flagging as part of the bonus, not that it matters to me as once again Authspot is being excluded from it.
August 1st, 2011 at 10:38 am
Yes wonder, we all must be grateful to Triond for it.
August 1st, 2011 at 10:40 am
yes, kanivel I also think Triond will withdraw it.
August 1st, 2011 at 10:42 am
Thanks The Quail 1957 for the info, I read that article, it’s awesome. I think all writers should have a look at it.
August 1st, 2011 at 10:43 am
Yes, that’s what we should do now, especially when some top writers decided to quit writing here.
We need to carry on and make Triond great.
August 1st, 2011 at 10:44 am
That’s what every Triond writer wants now, papaleng.
August 1st, 2011 at 10:48 am
hi, Christine Ramsay, still we want Triond to rebuild its reputation and win back its traffic and earnings.
August 1st, 2011 at 12:07 pm
good post with some interesting points.
August 1st, 2011 at 2:47 pm
good n useful write-up.
August 1st, 2011 at 6:13 pm
Flagging content isn’t for me and I wont do it. But I will continue to post because I like it here. I have so many friends that I feel like I know, and I like publishing on triond. I don’t like the spam and that’s my particular grip.
August 2nd, 2011 at 4:44 pm
Nicely written article. I think this site has a lot of work to do in order to get it’s reputation back. I will continue to support people who I feel are good writers on here. Thanks for sharing.
August 2nd, 2011 at 6:29 pm
I have been a writer on Triond since 2007 and I am shocked and saddened with what they did to me as I wrote here for the love of writing not for the money but I have to agree, the money making has gone down considerably as with their editorial amognst other things.
With huge success comes huge responsibilities and when that happens the quality of the site starts to go down when people start to chase money.
I would be starting my own writing site http://www.anishaachan.com after all the adversities put through by Triond and certain people whom I called friends (but they never took me as one though), will keep you posted about it but I do hope to see serious writers like yourself out there.
Send me all the sites that you think would help build a revenue from a single website and I will incoporate it into site I am building on my own…
August 2nd, 2011 at 7:48 pm
nice share.

Thanks geetarao07.
August 2nd, 2011 at 10:42 pm
Well said Ruby hawk, I don’t like flagging other writers’ articles to get bonus. I won’t do it. Spamming should stop.
August 2nd, 2011 at 10:44 pm
You are right prospectboy, Triond should have taken necessary action long ago, still I am happy they are trying something at least now, so I want to support their actions, even though their ideas are not appealing to me.
August 2nd, 2011 at 10:54 pm
Hi, Aiyanna (The One and Only), I don’t know why all these unwanted things happened to you, Minister and other friends.Anyway let us forget it and move on further.
It’s not good to lose top writers like The quail 1957, Jimmy, Minister and you.
Many writers contribute their creations to this site for the love of writing and money is only a secondary interest to them. You are definitely one of them.
I will be happy to visit your site and see what I can do there, thanks for the response.
August 2nd, 2011 at 10:54 pm
Thanks Joe Ram.

Excellent article. Triond is one of the most attractive sites, and it is our moral duty to support it in every possible way. Flagging is a very innovative idea by Triond, and the writers should refrain from misusing it
