I’m going to beat around bush no longer. I’ll admit that I’ve done my fair share of pussy footing around and tried to help people succeed on Triond by giving them "hints" to help with views. I’m done with that. Here are five things you should do to get views straight up.
1. Add as many friends as possible and comment
When you are starting out just go through add the most prolific writers on Triond to your friends list. As many as you can. You can often find these people in the Hot Content at any given time. Also it’s far easier to know now thanks to the badges Triond has introduced. Then comment on as many of their articles as possible. For some reason people think Triond is a kind of family and feel obliged to reply to you in the form of a comment on one of your articles. It’s as easy as that, you have views. Keep this up. If your like me, you are sick and tired of commenting so don’t unless you really liked it, but hey, it gets views.
2. Sign up to Stumbleupon
It is by far the best social bookmarking site for page views. Submit your articles to this site as well as thumbing up others. Again you need to befriend as many people as possible and “thumb up” their stuff. Start with the finding the Triond people you added as friends earlier. Digg is the next best site along with Mixx and any of the Googlesocial networks. It is time consuming and you won’t see results straight away but you will get views.
3. Write catchy titles to your articles
Just look at some of the crap that makes the Hot Content. You get “tricked” into thinking that it is going to be a great article when in reality it is usually not. Don’t get me wrong however, some pieces are great and you will soon find out whose work you like to read and whose you just click and comment on for their response.
4. Choose your article type carefully
Top 10’s, articles that have no time limit, and “Oh my God that can’t be true” articles. Articles that will make people comment. Controversy is a good start.
5. Check your spelling and grammar
Mine is not perfect but I get really annoyed if I find a bunch of mistakes in the first paragraph. If that happens I don’t click “like” and definitely don’t comment. I don’t even finish reading the article.
That’s it. That’s all I can tell you. It has worked for me. I have been in the Hot Content on numerous occasions, have had 1000 views in the space of just a few hours, have two articles with over 25,000 views and have earned $30, $40 and $50 on specific pieces. The two articles with my highest views can be viewed here and here. Good luck.
