Views are down. Earnings are down. Google is not to blame this month.
Ok. Back in February, March when the Google Panda algorithms took out their vengeance on content farms, we feared the worst. As a result, search engine results began showing quality content in the top page rankings as it should be. Low quality, duplicate, spun and plagiarized content have steadily lost ranking. Quality content, even published with content farms, is gaining popularity and recognition for quality writers.
The Triond Dashboard has a section that shows each member exactly where their traffic has been coming from over the past thirty days. This is quite handy when you heavily promote your articles. It is also quite handy in observing trends.
When you first join Triond, you find out quickly enough that writing is not as lucrative as you thought it would be. Triond does not aid in getting your work seen. Promotion is another chore you must do. About this time you also find out that earnings aren’t dependent on what you write but on the ads that appear around your published works.
When you are new, you are advised to add other writers to your list of friends. The premise is that you will view each other’s work thereby kick-starting the earnings process. By reading what your friends write, you get to gauge you own ability. This is alright except that if a reader does not leave a comment, you don’t know who has been visiting so you can return the favor.

It is a sad commentary to report that over the past thirty days, Triond member traffic has only been responsible for less than 1/4 of the traffic I have received from search engines. Of the thousands of Triond friends, 57 views over 30 days is crap. I alone have read, liked, commented, shared and ad viewed more than triple what the community has done for me. Why should I continue being a friend? Isn’t this supposed to be a two-way street?

I understand what you’re saying. I’m fairly new to this site so I really haven’t been exposed to this yet but I completely understand why this is some what upsetting. This site is to help us make money and if people aren’t helping you when you are helping them I don’t see a reason why you should have to continue to help them.

I think some of this is related to the fact that it is summer in most of the world and people are not on-line as much. I work 2x as much in the summer since I live in a tourist area, plus have way more yard work… but that is probably only part of it, I think people also tire…

Brenda, summer has never been as low as this. Search engine traffic should be down too but it is holding steady or rising.

I always return comments and comment on a few other articles if I have time. Most of my comments are returned. I don’t understand why yours aren’t.

It could get frustrating not to get more views despite the additional articles we put in. I’m at a loss, too.
