Which article site pays the most, which article site has the best writer’s community and which has the best quality articles. What do triond, Bukisa and Associated Content offer writers.
Pros and Cons about writing for Triond, Bukisa and Associated Content plus the new site I write for that pays the most!
What I like about Triond:
*The layout of the front page, gives you lots of info in one place. What you’ve earned, where your views have come from, content, and it also shows you what your friends have published which makes it easy to go into their articles and view them too. Also your messages are shown here.
*There is something cool about knowing that your articles are going on various sites, as they have different sites for different content. You also have some idea of what kind of content will make more money, so you can choose where to put your energy.
*The Triond community is the most supportive and active out of the three sites, and I credit this to the front page layout showing your friends latest articles.
*The waiting time between submission and publication is minimal.
*Open to writers from around the world.
*The minimum pay out is $0.50.
*Triond now gives you a 10% bonus is you write between 5-9 articles and a 20% bonus if you write more than 9, but only in some subject catagories.
What I don’t like about Triond:
*The work has to be original, as in not previously published on line or anywhere else.
*They publish anything, and the quality is lower than the other sites. If my title has a spelling error it is still published, and only if I pick up on it and correct it is it changed otherwise they go ahead and approve it.
*Not the greatest pay.
What I like about Bukisa:
*A year ago I wrote in this article - “By far the highest paying site. Even without publishing every day on Bukisa I make the most money on it out of the three sites. At the moment it is $3.45 for every 1000 views.”
Things have changed, starting in 2011 Bukisa will pay only from AdSense or Chitika adverts placed on your articles, NOT from page views. This is going to mean very low pay for the writers.
*Graphics and layout are also good.
*Fast feedback when you need help.
*Open to writers from around the world.
What I don’t like about Bukisa:
*Out of the three Bukisa has the most hitches, when the site is “down”, for maintenance reasons, or when the statistics and view count are not up dated.
*I still haven’t figured out the slide show function, maybe it’s me, but it appears to be more complicated than the other two.
*Minimum pay out is $10.00
Find out more about Bukisa here: http://www.bukisa.com/join/23994
What I like about Associated Content:
*This site has the most professional feel to it, both in the content quality and the layout.
*After your first few articles you can publish straight away without an approval period.
*The slide show function is the easiest out of the three sites, and you store your photos in your own “photo album” on the site until you use them.
*Also you can show a series of photos as apposed to Triond where the media option is for one shot.
*Perhaps the best feature of Associated Content is the followers function. You can create a list of e-mail addresses, and when you publish your article is automatically sent out to all of your mailing list. So if you have a fair number of addresses you have a guaranteed amount of views for each article.
*Minimum pay out is $1.50.
What I don’t like about Associated Content:
*Although the professionalism is a good thing, it does have a snobby stuck up vibe about it.
*Low pay.
*No sense of community.
* The writing assignment options are for USA residents only, so writers outside the US, like myself get the lowest pay out.
SINCE WRITING THIS ARTICLE I HAVE STOPPED WRITING FOR ASSOCIATED CONTENT AS THEY NO LONGER ACCEPT NON-US WRITERS.
I have however begun writing for Factoidz which pays by far the best, gives bonuses and offers product review assignments with upfront payments. If you want to learn more about Factoidz go here: Factoidz
Overall if I could combine them all I would have Bukisa’s pay, Associated Contents content quality and followers function and Trionds community and front page lay out.So at the moment I write for all three and enjoy the best of what each has to offer.

I agree with you. I think both triond and bukisa are good. But i’m not so sure about AC because I feel that site best suited for US citizens.

I like Triond best. My Bukisa articles don’t get as much views as those I published on Triond an AC. Thanks for sharing you comparative reviews.

Good review.
Triond is an excellent platform for beginners. It’s easy, and the satisfaction good, which keeps your motivation up for writing.
I haven’t tried Associated Content, but I have tried Bukisa.I think it’s good like Triond, it does pay better than Triond.
I think if given the choice it would be good to join these sites together, as they all have their ups and downs, but you can’t go wrong with either Triond or Bukisa.

I am glad you wrote this, I was thinking of looking around for other sites.

A good site to include here is factoidz.com, they pay 4 different rates ranging up to $5.00 per 1000 views, and if you apply for and receive a Moderator position, your works can earn up to $8.00 per 1000 views. I have found that works published at Factoidz seem to ‘take off’ all by themselves sometimes… unexpectedly getting several thousand views overnight.
Similar to both Triond and Bukisa, somewhat more professional that either yet you can still publish humor or ‘blog-like’ articles, they prefer ‘how to’ ‘do it yourself’ and ‘fact-based’ more.
Joining via a referrer is beneficial (you earn from the first article, instead of after publishing three articles, etc.)
Check Factoidz if interested:
http://factoidz.com/create-account.php?refer=2T5232
(my referrer-# above, or join ‘cold’ either way)
Works must be original, and 400+ words minimum. Do however check your works closely for spelling/grammar as once published you cannot ‘edit’ until you have reached “Level-5, MAVEN” status (published 50 articles.) But chances are, if you have more than two or three spelling errors, a Factoidz editor will send it back to you to fix before publishing. A ‘really big error’ like incorrect fact or broken URL can probably be submitted as a request to an editor and they will fix it for you on a case-by-case basis… -they are very easy and nice to work with.

Great article. I’m also on all 3 sites, and just wanted to read someone else’s review. I agree 100%.

Interesting article and very useful though ironocally even though I found exactly what I was looking for in the search page on google it magicaly was not on this page. I was lloking for information on editing bukisa articles.
I am curious what country you are from?
Thanks for the info on all three of these sites.
I have one other thing….
I am really surprised to find that bukisa is the highest paying site. This is counter intuitive to me becuase I find the index rather low compared to other site that I submitted too as well as adsense.
Though compared to what I get from my finance blog it is good figure.

Hi Finance Guy
I hope you come back to read this reply. SInce writing this article a few things have changed. Bukisa’s rate has dropped but only slightly; Associated Content has made payment difficult for non-us writers (I’m in Israel at the moment) and I have discoverd Factoidz I have also started writing for Helium.. Without a doubt I make much more money on Factoidz, Helium is more complicated to write for as you write to their titles, pay out is $25 and you have to rate other writer’s work. I still find Bukisa pays well as I haven’t written there in a while and still make a few $ from them each month. You have to look not only at the rate they are paying but at their exposure on the net, a high paying site might only get a few views and so you get less money anyway. If you would like to try Factoidz go here:

Look forward to any feedback.
