  • Try writing things that comes to your mind. Don’t worry about grammar, spelling mistakes, sentence formation, etc. Just write whatever that comes to your mind. How about writing a small sentence like “The party was cool.” Your first sentence is now over. Just think about how you got dressed up to the party, the mode of transportation for the party, how you enjoyed, whom all you met, and finally saying “Au revoir.”

  • Prepare a list of things you have to do. If you are planning to write a book, plan how you are going to write it, the chapters, and how you wish to take it forward. Prepare a small outline of these things in either a piece of paper or key it in MS Word or any other word processor that you use. Go about doing the work as mentioned in the outline.

  • Writers may get writer’s block when they keep on writing on a similar subject. How about writing an article in a subject that you have never written. Do a bit of research and try writing a simple and short 200 or 300 word article. You will definitely feel fresh.

  • Watch a television show or browse the internet or hear some songs or news in radio. You could get some interesting information that can give you an idea to write an article. This is because majority of the times, writer’s block is created due to lack of ideas.

  •  Take a break. I don’t mean to say don’t write for a month or so; just a few hours or days break. Go for a walk; play with your kids; have a cup of coffee; sit relaxed and listen to some soothing music; chit-chat with your friendly neighbors.

These are the ways I overcome writer’s block. If anybody of you have any other ideas, please share it with me.
