Improve your writing

Too Much Brain Traffic Might Cause a Writer’s Block

Know the feeling you have just too much on your mind, you want to write, but your inspiration seems to point you nowhere?

When you are too busy reading and writing, forgetting to understand what you really want, you might end up with a writer’s block.

It can happen to all off us. Too much projects on the rails. Too many things you like to write about.

Do not mind. Just break down and crack. I always dreamed of becoming a writer. Like all I liked to get published, but I know that today competition is so hard that getting published is almost as hard as getting an elephant through the eye of a needle.

Much good work gets declined by publishers, because there is just too much. Many have invested many dollars, euros or whatever currency into a career that goes nowhere.

Yes, the idea might get me depressed. I never really realized how hard to writing business and the competition was, before I joined Triond.

I also started reading ads for freelance jobs and notice they often get poorly paid indeed and wrote an article on why I believe this might be.

An open world with virtually no borders, like the one the Internet had created, made changes better, but competition even harder.

Many with an English degree or whatever can get into it. There are many sites promising big money with freelance and on line writing. Fact is that some writers do make a living with it. I do not disagree with that and that they might not always have the time to publish things here, is also understandable.

Fact is I read about how you could make money from writing on line and I saw it as a chance I took and will not regret. No, I will not become a big earner on Triond. I might buy myself a CD in time with my earnings, but it does not matter. In a certain way I made my dream come true: I am a published writer, being it in a different way than I had imagined and people do read my work.

Do they like it? I presume some do and some don’t like I love reading some and others less. This is pure a matter of taste.

So I felt empty lately, while my brain seemed to get overcooked. I like to write a novel. I can self publish it.

I uploaded a poetry bundle on the Lulu market place. Will I sell some? I do not know, but I do have twisted feeling.

Do I like to sell it? Well, I do like to get something for my work, but the 68 page book , containing 32 poems, feels too expensive too sell, considering it costs already about 8,5 euro without a fee to print. Maybe I should wait till I have more content for it. The rough version of some are on line.

Stilln I am working on a novel. The story seems to get stuck somewhere in the last middle part, just before the end.

So what do I do? Keep reading and keep writing some articles, to improve my English and to consider that there is nobody pressuring me, beside myself to get things done.

Maybe I am not up to deadlines or up to make a living from my writings. But I do enjoy sharing them.
