Improve your writing

Titles: Entertaining and Informative

If you picked out a book that’s title was related to improving your writing, would you rather read book that looks like the most boring college lecture in existence or one that looks like it could be both an fun and useful read?

The fastest and easiest way to create a carefully crafted title and description for your articles is simple. All you have to do is write your article.

Everyone has some spur of the moment, great ideas and phrases that eventually make it into an article. Now you just need to find those. Don’t even think about writing your title or article Description until you have completely written your entire article. You should be completely ready to hit the submit button before you even consider clicking on the Title box.

Pick out your favorite section of your article. The one that stands out to you as the best example of your writing. Then, copy and paste that section into the description box. Change around the wording a little bit and fix any grammatical errors and improve it a little bit (Even if it is your best part, you can still make it better).

Now pick out your favorite words from that section. The ones that make it strong and powerful. Use those in your title. They will make your title a lot more beautiful than just saying something like: “Writing: Using Effective Titles”.

Instead I would use something like: “Titles: Don’t Even Think About Them”. In fact, that might be something I end up doing.

You may be thinking, why would I even try this? How would this affect me? Who even cares about titles?

That is a mistake. Titles are the most important part of any essay, article, story, anything. They are the first impression that is made on the reader. If you picked up a book that’s title was related to titles and writing. Would you rather read book that looks like the most boring Lecture in existence or one that looks like it could be an entertaining and informative read?

On that note, I’ll sign off and say “Happy Title-ing!!!”
