Things To Write About in September

September is a season of transistion, the days shorten and the summer gives way to the autumn, or the fall. This gives us our best writing opportunities. Consider

• Photo-essays – The combinations of the autumn light, brightly coloured trees and autumnal weather conditions offer fantastic opportunies
• Autumn crops – Fruits, apples and fungi are being collected
• Changes in mood – autumn induces a melancholy. People lament the end of summer and the approach of long winter days.  
• Making ready for winter – getting the house in order. In the stately homes of England, once the tourists are gone, the houses are put to bed.
• Watch for birthdays and anniversaries that occur during the month.
