Improve your writing

The Writer.

Where do they come from, where do they go…

The hungry Writer is filled with passion; A longing to express  and to feel what they write. But  what happens when that horrible day arrives…that they succeed?

Do they get tired, and drag on? Because now, they are an accomplished Writer and it is their job; It is expected. They have emptied their soul of all that was there. There is no more to give. What happened to the feeling of passion? All out of words, totally drained of passion; What then?

  • One has to go back and ask some hard questions. What was I looking for in the first place; Fame, fortune…my name in lights? What? Before, they were ready to explode, needing to get these feelings out, to share, but once it is in print and opened to the world, it no longer belongs to you, exclusively. Maybe, you have  given away your passion, as well?

I think when things get to that point, one should realize that writing is a tool, and like all tools, it needs a purpose. First, it was to say what you had to say, and now, MAYBE, your writing has to serve a greater purpose. So I have heard it said: The best way to help yourself is to help others.

It may take the form of Journalism or the like, something to put out the truths of humanity, to bring out the hard facts of our existence, and how we can help others. When a tool is put to a good use…it is a good tool. And we have  done our part in making things better.

After all, we are all in boats
, on the same pond. You might say, we have to look out for the other guy, because he is just you, in a different colored boat.
