The Truth About Writing Articles for Profit Online

OK, so you’ve been looking for a way to make money from the Internet. So far, I’m sure you see just about every work from home scam that is out there. Everything from surveys and income from Goggle, to partner with some guy that says he will make you rich. The ONE big catch it all of these plans? You pay them, not the other way around. Most of all the scams out there have one thing in common; they make the money from selling to you a so called miracle kit to wealth. But, don’t give up, there is hope.

Consider this, you are reading this article. Someone had to write it, me. You can do the same thing and get paid for it. You don’t really have to be some brilliant writer or some nerd that sits in front of a computer all day to do this. I have published over 100 articles in the past two years and I have no specialized training. I do, however enjoy writing, and write quite often.

Now, you say, well how do I make living writing articles?
There is no short answer. There is no get rich scheme to this either. It’s a lot of work and determination, along with a will to succeed. If someone promises you an easy way to get rich on the internet, remember, they are the one getting rich, not you.

First things first. You should never pay anyone to work for them; it’s supposed to be the other way around. You will come across sites that promise you income if pay them first. Be warned, don’t do it. There are sites that you can join like associated content, the one that I wrote this on for, that you can join for free. Other sites on the web that pay you to write are Webupon, Triond and host of others. Triond has published over 50 of my articles and I have had a lot of good exposure from them.

So now you found a site to join, now what?
Lets look of some the best way to be viewed. HOW-TO articles are probably the most viewed articles on the net today. People are always looking for answers to something. If you have a particular knowledge on a certain subject,  that is where I would start. When you write an “HOW-TO” article try to be as precise as possible. If you want reader to read other subjects by you, impress them with the ones that they read. Believe me, if they don’t like the first one, they dang sure won’t read anymore. I have one article viewed over 6000 time’s just on one subject; I continue to get hits or (reads) everyday. This should be your goal. Get the same article read over and over, a good article should be timeless, in other words, it will be as relevant tomorrow as it is today.

Let’s be seen. This is where you make your money. Most all free writing sites work on the same principal. You get a certain percentage of the income your article generates. You have to been seen, a lot, to make any money. There are some free practical ways to do this. One- email. Once you have published an article, copy the HTTP address of the articles to a separate word doc. (You can create on document, call it writing tags, and every time you write a new article, copy the address line to that sheet and save it.) Once you have your address saved, send it to you friends, just copy and paste the address into the email from you document file. Add a note, say something like, “I wrote an article could you please read it for me and tell me what you think” and ask if they could forward it to some of their friends so they could read it to. If you can get them to get it going down line, you can gain a lot of reads this way. Be careful though, don’t send out new articles on a daily basis to your friends, they may get tired them pretty quickly and not respond to your request. I normally don’t send out emails to friends more than once a month, but, will but tags or address to several articles at one time.

Next, advertise for free. I use craigslist quite a lot to promote my articles. Believe it or not, I generate over 200 hits a week per article from this one technique. How do I do this? Simple, I post a new article in different sections of the list everyday, and continually repeat this month after month. Each month the list that I put on the list continues to grow. The trick is to write about different things, so you can post them in different places.
Writing for a living from home, has to be treated as a job. You have to perform. If you think that you can just sit back and write one good article and get rich from it, good luck, let me know how you did it. Most people will never make any real money from writing online, I’m being honest here, and they will give up when they only see pennies for their efforts.

Then there are people like me. I write and write. I market and I write some more. If you want to make a living writing online that what it takes. Write, market, write and repeat. I hope I didn’t burst your bubble with article, but you need the truth. You CAN do it. But, you have to make it happen. Remember, that if you want to change where you’re at in life, only you can make it happen.
