The Trials of Job Hunting Aka Why I Chose Online Writing for Pay

Ever wanted to know what possessed people to write little articles for money? Or if you could do it?

To put it simply, it’s so easy! I may only have lived 18 years so far, but for the past four of those, I’ve spent all my time doing something I dread most. Job hunting. I’m not sure if anyone else has had the same trouble I’ve had, but being a teenager and hunting for a job sucks. I am a naturally picky person, and I really didn’t want to spend my time at a fast-food chain or a fancy restaurant, since I have horrible people-skills because talking to strangers terrifies me. I tried the library, baby-sitting, even manual labor, but sadly, no one wanted an inexperienced teenage girl.

So I found something that did. Writing articles online. I mean, it was everything I needed, right? I didn’t need to speak face-to-face to people, and I absolutely loved writing. Why not? I thought.

I even created a little list of pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Easy money.
  • I didn’t have any pressure from a manager.
  • I didn’t have to brush off my people skills.
  • It was on my time (which fits my busy schedule).

Cons:

  • I wasn’t sure what I could write about/questioning I was good enough to read.
  • How would I be sure I was paid?
  • People actually reading my stuff so I could get paid.

I found a way to get rid of most of those cons. I learned that if people even click on your article, it counts as a read. That means money, for me. On plenty of sites, they use PayPal to pay, but even wary people like me can have a check sent to you, or even Western Union. How simple is that? And as before, it doesn’t matter if your article is poured over by a bunch of readers, traffic is the magic word. Traffic is simply the amount of people/views your article receives and, depending on the site, you are paid a certain amount simply by having people read your article!
So why not try it? It’s simple and easy for a young adult, teenager and even a single parent of three! It’s on your time, your own style and idea, and you get paid for it! What more could a writer ask for? Try writing articles for many today!
