The Top Most Unconstructive Yet Frequently Used Comments to Avoid Making

Below are the top overly used, unconstructive, pointless comments people make just to show they were there or to try and be nice. If you want to be valued for your comments I would avoid these.

These are not in a specific order by the way:

  1. Interesting-Yes. The piece is interesting. If it wasn’t interesting would you have gotten to the comment section, would I have bothered writing it?
  2. Nice/good post- Thanks. Yep…nice…
  3. Nice one- Basically the same exact thing. No response really appropriate you’re either saying this so your name will be shown on a good article/ or a popular person’s profile or you are trying to be unnecessarily nice or you are trying to show you actually read it. If you don’t really have anything to say then don’t say anything.
  4. Good information- Of course it’s good information! Otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered to share it with you! Also if you are saying this for the people who are going to read it after you they won’t see the comments until they scroll down AFTER reading the article!
  5. Thank you- You’re welcome, now get off my screen.
  6. Great/good work- Thanks, that makes me wanna keep going just because I know that you like my work that little bit! -.-
  7. Informative- This is pretty much the same as number four but I thought I’d add it in there just so you guys know that this is also one to avoid
  8. Great tips- This is normally posted on reviews and articles such as this. Yeah, great tips. If they were not great tips no one would bother to tell other people, including the writer!
  9. Good share- This is truly pointless, but I felt I must stop the spam comments that are just there so othersfeel obliged to read the commenter’s articles. Good share..ahh yes I shared my article with you and you thought it was good. Great to know.
  10. I like this- This is truly the WORST one if you like this than press the like button!!! Don’t just tell me you like it ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NO point in that!

Okay so just so everyone knows: A constructive, useful, unrepeated comment that you WANT to use would be one pertaining to the article, that mentions something specific to the article, and that may give the writer criticism. If they can’t take the hit, then they weren’t meant to write. Writing is all ABOUT improving. So help budding writers improve and say what you are thinking. Don’t try to spare us, stake us, go ahead hit me on this article if you feel the need! But I swear to God if someone posts one of the above comments on this article I will sue and it will be a nasty lawyer I bring to the table. So go out there and comment like you mean it!

Terimaksih, Olive. I’m new here. I often find comments like that.

In fact, I was one of the owners. :)

At least this time I do not use one of the ten types of comments above.

What do you think of this comment? :)

Nice one:P Actually, I really agree with you. People usually just comment to get views, but I think that commenting should be because you really have something to say.

Sanaahmed did you even READ the article!!! By adding an I-N-G and switching good for great it does not make the comment acceptable!

LOL, you have a great spirit Olive. As you see, some readers do give comments not because they have anything to be said. At several cases, they do give comments just to place their name on, to build backlinks, etc, etc. And some other cases, readers don’t want to say anything (or let’s say useless comments) because they’re afraid to hurt the writer’s feelings.

If you seek for improvements in this article, well, from my point of view (as a reader, not writer -because I’m not telling you that I could write better-) is that the numbers you listed above are just too much. When you want to shock somebody with your passion and caution, less down the list into just 3 maybe. No matter what, those ‘useless comments’ are very similar with each other, right?

I’d add “unique” to the list – unique in what way? Good or bad? It’s a word people can interpret in their own way, isn’t it?
