People often use writing as a form of therapy. You express yourself by writing down what your thinking. This has been known to reduce pain and strengthens the immune system.
1. What do we mean when we say writing therapy? It simply means that a person puts there feelings on paper,email or any other form where the person can transfer what they are thinking. It is in some ways suppose to have the effect of unburdening the person with what they are feeling. By writing it down you are getting rid of those negative feelings. Your removing them from your mind and transferring them to another storage form.
2. Even the Internet offers a prescribed form of writing therapy with the most common from being via email. The messages via email can be exchanged between the Therapist and Client. The great benefit of doing this via email is that the client will have less inhibitions and will share more memories. This then allows the person to heal at a much better rate.
3. Not everyone would need a professional level of writing therapy. For the everyday person a good does of writing therapy can easily be found just writing articles. Triond being a great example. I would also have to say that there seems to be alot of people using forums for their writing therapy. Give it a try and see if it brings benefits to your life as well.
