The writer is known by their writings as they walk the road of life through the years.

This now, is who I truly am
as my pen takes liberty.
What now I write is where I’ve been,
so much there for all to see.
Good and bad, and in between,
the road walked down through the years,
a panoramic display of scenes
from sunshine highs to darkened tears.
But I am not so unlike you,
you who would glance across this write.
The road you’ve walked that I’ve never knew;
are similar roads not brought to light ?
Know me by the writes you read
and I’ll do the same for you.
Writing is our consuming need
as to ourselves we must stay true.

Lovely write
I have seen the world,
Walking,
Air crafting
And
Motoring
I have yet to fly to the moon,
Only if some day
I have the opportunity
Ere I go away
A bit too soon,
I will also write
About the moon
Your writings are graceful
I hope a friend
I’ll make of out of you
Very soon

Better than “to thine own self be true” is “Nosce te ipsum” or “know yourself”.
I like your style. It’s direct but has hints of drama about the edges. At least you colour your theme with your own experience, which is something that most people who call themselves poets forget to do.
At my core, however, I am moved in another direction, for I believe in equity and in equality between peers and frown on the thought or action that holds more to a person’s nature than to a noble spirit of humanity. Why be truer to natural tendencies than to an honour, a principle, or a virtue? After all, a natural tendency is to lean more toward pride than humility.
Anywho, that’s enough of me rambling. Sorry about that. Thanks for sharing and have a good one.
