The Price of Freedom: Why Triond is Less Earning Than Other Publishing Sites

Being on several writing sites, made me realize that Triond might be great to begin and to publish from time to time later, but the problem is, that due to its unqiue system, this site does not earn much.

Triond is not like many other sites. It allows you to publish any somewhat decent written articles and creative pieces.

Articles do not require a minimum amount of words and they do not have to contain factual information. You can post fiction and opinion pieces.

As long as it is not pornographic or a call for violence or intolerance, you can get away with it.

Seldom do you get a returned draft for revise. It does not mean you may have written too many mistakes, but the dictionary might give too many yellow or unrecognized words, which the editorial machine might consider spelling errors, while it might be names or words that are correct, but not in the dictionary.

Now Triond does not invest that much in SEO as sites like Factoidz do. Factoidz does require academic writings, or articles based on facts with informative content. Triond gives writers a lot of tools to promote their work, while other sites are limited in it. But if a writer does not promote him- or herself, no matter how great the content might be, if will barely get any views.

Triond articles seldom show up in big search engines like Google, unless the writer puts them there him- or herself and most articles get looked up in the Triond community itself, or in the search engine of the sub-site you are published on.

Yes, there are also some good academic articles written on Triond and they also gain more views than fiction writing.

Creative writings are not looked up. People read them when they are willing to read poems or short stories, but they do not really look those things up, so this will earn less.

But when you explore the possibilities of online writing, you will find out that Triond might not be the site that gives you most views, if you are able to write a truthful, factional article that contains timeless information that people might look up for years.

On the other hand: Triond might not pay much, but I found an online writing site in my native language, that requires writers to pay before they can write.

What makes you think of that? Of course, you do get competition elements and you can earn your fee back, but still …

Triond is using Yahoo ads and other mostly junk ads which either do not pay well or gives Triond a leeway to get away without transparency. But Triond has enabled Google adsense for members which is giving higher income comparable to other higher earning sites like any Google adsense site.
What I wonder however is why Triond did not enable Google adsense using their account only and share the revenue 50/50 like it is currently doing with Yahoo ads?
This month earnings per views have been slashed again. I am trying to figure out the exact amount of change. The numbers show a range of 10% to 30% reduction in pay per view. Soon Triond will reduce this by another 50% in no time. Time to work at Bukisa.

I agree with Pattiann. For the time being at least, I have been hooked here. But personally, I have made more money here than elsewhere.
