Every small step is a victory, when you are are pushing toward your goals.
Yesterday I wrote about my reasons for thinking that triond is worth staying with, and once again, my point was proved, as that post itself helped to push me through the 400 views in a single day barrier that was my next small target. I feel very pleased, but more bu the 43 comments I got yesterday, some of them extremely complimentary, about the works I had posted.
It is really gratifying that so many of you see my writing so positively, and truly gives me hope for a sustainable audience on triond, but I am beginning to think that a huge number of the views we all get are from other members of the triond crowd, rather than general members of the public, or is that a completely wrong impression? Those of you who have been around longer will have more idea, and I would like to know how you view this?
Another question that came up yesterday was the need, if one really wants to earn some money for the stuff one writes, to send it out to several different sites at once, ensuring maximum coverage, but I already do that, in that I write for other sites beside triond, and put all the posts on wikinut as well, so perhaps the message was that I should target specific sites with specific posts, but would that also not eat up valuable time, trawling through sites to inspect them, and decide which posts would go best where? Answers from you please, on your approach to this question.
Many of the responses I got to yesterdays post demonstrated very strongly that far more of you, than I would have thought possible, share my own sentiments in that the camaraderie of the triond family, which is amazingly strong, is more important to you than the money you can make. I noticed on a forum postyesterday that some people were grateful to have earned one dollar or less for February? I made over $10 for the first time, and qualified for the bonus, so I should be pleased with my efforts.
Still, all the positive feedback is somehow far more valuable, and as I implied with the title of this post, I feel part of a great fellowship here, and think that is how we could genuinely see ourselves in future, the fellowship of triond. Has a nice ring to it, and sums up the way that we all appear to feel about the site and one another. How do you good people see this, and do you approve of this notion? I want to hear from others about their impressions and thoughts, because we can help each other in all sorts of ways, if we want to.
It may be that I have just got very lucky with the views I get, or, as I prefer to believe, that there really is an audience out there, that appreciates good writing enough to keep coming back for more, if that is what they perceive the work of a writer to be. OK, it may just be that, at this moment I am flavour of the month, and that the fickle viewers will, inevitably, drift elsewhere, but I prefer believing that, as long as I can keep it interesting for them, they will stick around.
That, then, is the challenge I throw out today to all of my fellow trionders. Find something you consider really mundane to write about, then make it your mission to write a post about it that grabs the attention of viewers. It can be done, I mean my best ever selling piece was about the salt you sprinkle thoughtlessly onto your food. You can do it, too, if you have faith in your own talent. Being with triond can help you nurture it, because this gigantic fellowship is on your side.

Very well said. Though I can not answer your questions since I am new here as well. I am one of those grateful who earned less than a dollar last month. Honestly, I am struggling to earn much for I do not have a job at the moment. But I enjoyed writing as much as reading articles of my fellow trionders so I will not leave this group and will continue doing what I love to do here. Nice share.

Every small step is a victory, when you are ‘are’ pushing toward your goals.
Check the second “are”.
Thanks for sharing.

I think your right most views come from within the community, not from other readers. I think that one of the reasons being news articles cease to become news once they are hung for days and are so far behind when published they miss the boat. Personally im not sure if it is worth stayng on the site but will see what happens in the near future first.

I tend to post Here first, then Voicesnet. Triond demands first dibs. Voicesnet doesn’t make the same demand but offers no money. I just like to write and post. Triond is fine for that. Am currently addicted to the forum too.
Am getting lots of new fans here recently, so just now most of my traffic is from the community. This may vary however. If you concentrate more on trends and SEO then things might change.
Good article.

I just like reading your articles. They are well written and you do write about such a variety of subjects. Your articles about Triond are inspirational. I can just picture you in my mind sitting in front of your keyboard pounding away and producing new wonders for us to read. Keep up the good work and congrats on passing the $10 mark. I know that wasn’t easy.

Great post! I was also one of those happy to get less than one dollar hehe. My most viewed article was 10 things we love to hate, I would never have believed it. I read as many posts as I can, I guess that most views do come from within the community.
Keep up the good work.

You said it better than I could. I am new to triond so I don’t know what others are having, but based upon the chart on my dashboard regarding hits on my published articles I am getting more from outside triond than inside at the moment.
Due to my living circumstances, my internet time is limited so I have to maximize my time online. Instead of “wasting” time searching sites I have been trying to find a limited number of sites where I can receive the maximum return and then investing my limited time in those sites. Once I get the ball rolling so to speak and start noticing I have a bit of free time then I take that time to add a new site and rinse and repeat as many times as needed.
This is the method that works for me, but not sure about how others do it.

Great article. I made less than a dollar in the month of February, but it was the most that I had made since becoming a member in November of last year. Keep up the good work.
