Further chronicles of my quest to be independently employed.
Now in week 2 of my concentrated attempt to make a solid living working entirely for myself, I find that I am a bit overwhelmed by the sheer mass of options. Do I start my own blog to link to content on Triond? Do I simply concentrate on building up a good volume of content before I worry about generating traffic to individual submissions? Or, should I focus on a more direct means of income, where I get paid smaller fees for writing quick, one-off content?
I know I need to diversify my efforts to produce the best end result. But with my continued research, I find myself confused with finding the best strategy to attack the situation. The more time I spend writing and researching, the more I see that there are many ways to “skin a cat” so to speak. There are many successful online writers who have acheived their success using many different methods. The only unifying factor I can find seems to be volume. Sheerly producing a lot of material, and subsequently linking to it from a variety of other places, appears to me the method that produces results.
The main thing I am trying to decipher is whether to build a lot of material before worrying so much about driving outside traffic, or be certain to create outside links for each article I create. As with any of my writing, suggestions and comments are welcome and encouraged. Until next time…
