Writing high quality articles quickly and efficiently is an underdeveloped skill for most writers. Use these ten tips to crank out great articles as fast as possible.
- Keep your articles fairly short, around the 300 word mark, and try to write them fast. However, do not put quantity over quality, as badly written articles with horrible writing style, bad grammar and misspelled words will only earn you a few views. Write clear, informative articles that are to the point and tightly written.
- Keep a text file full of article ideas on different topics that you can pull out and choose from at any time. Having a list of ready to go article ideas really cuts down on the time it will take you to publish an article, and is a great way to work past writer’s block.
- Don’t spend the entire day in front of the computer writing. Get up and walk around, do something to take your mind off writing. This will clear your head and allow you to focus better once you get back to your articles.
- When writing, make sure there are no distractions around you. If you think having music playing or multiple windows open on your computer will hinder your ability to write quality articles, get rid of them before you begin writing.
- Add links to your related articles at the end of each article to stream traffic between articles, maximizing your traffic. Usually, I limit myself to three, but I’ve seen people put any amount from two to five with no ill effects. Any more and search engines may skip over your content because of too many outbound links in the body text.
- Make your titles engaging and interesting. Titles are what users will see first from your article, and if the title fails to attract a viewer, you’ll lose a lot of potential traffic.
- Submit your content to social bookmarking sites like Stumble and Reddit, but don’t spam your work to these sites because you’ll “flood” your account, and stop receiving traffic from these sites. If you do this accidentally, you can always start a new account, but the best thing to do is to only post your best work and interact with the community as much as possible to generate a following.
- If it helps, play music or drink something while writing. This serves as a distraction for some people, but for others it allows them to concentrate even more.
- Look at related works from other authors to see what topics work and which ones don’t. Looking up articles like this one, that offer advice about how to write articles effectively and improve your writing style is also a great way to overall your overall article quality and writing technique.
- Try to refrain from posting articles on more then one site. While this will earn you more if it’s allowed by the sites you post it on, the odds of getting a large amount of traffic from these articles is limited because search engines will skip over duplicate content, considering it simply reposted, and it won’t appear high in page rankings.
