Successful Stories

Do you ever wonder how so many authors become famous just with one book? Such as Twilight? Don’t you sometimes wish you could ask that author how they did it? It’s not that you CAN’T write a story/book it’s just that you need to know the right stuff.

Everyone at some point wonders about this.” WHY CANT I WRITE A BOOK!!???”This probably is stuck in your head as you try to write the most creative thing you can come up with. You’re stuck with no ideas and are ready to just quit. You don’t need to give up that easily. First off before you even start typing/writing you need to make sure that you know what topic you want to write about. If you have no idea than all you need is a piece of paper, pencil/pen and your brain. Write down ideas that you might be interested in. If you are a big fan of sports than you might want to write down sports. Or, if you like to go on trips then you could write a story about trips you’ve taken or a made up character who has. Maybe if you want to combine ideas together. Such as if you wanted to write a story about more than one thing you can combine the story so it’s not only one event taking place. If you like sports and taking trips than you could combine the story. Make sure that you don’t overdue it. You want to make it so that the reader understands everything that’s going on in the story. If you want to make more than one thing going on than the limit should be ad least 3. Remember, you want this to be easy for you and the reader.

So, if you’re all set and ready for step two then keep on reading! Most people think that the second step is to create your title. WRONG!! You won’t have to worry about till the very end. The next step is to create your characters. Make sure that you know what each characters position is going to be. There should be ad least 2 or 3 MAIN characters in your story/book. You can add backround characters as well. Backround characters are the characters that have minor parts in your story. Such as a normal citizen walking down the street. Then, your backup characters are the characters that support either the main characters or a scene. An example of a backup character would be a boy and his father having a conversation. His father would be the backup character and the boy would be the main character. Since having a conversation is a scene then, without the backup character it doesn’t support the event. Hope that makes sense. You’ll start to understand as you increase your writing skills.

Ready for step 3? So the tasks that we’ve already talked about are coming up with topics, title, backround characters and backup characters. So, now it’s time to start either typing or writing. This will be your rough draft. Write whats on your mind first and make sure that it makes sense. This is one of the easy parts if you take your time and don’t rush. Then you’ll start to come up with more and more great ideas. So, once you finish your rough draft, read it over and find spelling errors and misplaced words. Then, you can rewrite the story as your final draft. Your last step is to get it published! Here are some important things to know.

In a story, even if you’re not the main character you still need to express yourself through the characters. Show excitment, sorrow, anxiousness, frustration etc. Be very specific and full of details.

Make sure that the backup characters are very detailed and express themselves based on their personalities. You don’t want everyone to have the same likings, disliking and personalities. This makes the story boring and dosen’t excite the reader. Change it up and make ad least one thing unique about each character.

You need to make hooks in your story too. Don’t know what hooks are?? Hooks is what keeps the reader reading. It makes the story interesting, exciting even creepy! Hook writing is easy and keeps you with happy readers! If you’ve ever read goosebumps then you probably have a good idea. Usually, you’ll find hook sentences towards the end of the book, making the reader want to read more. Usually, a chapter ends in something that send chills down your spine! To make a sentence all you need is something sudden or surprising happen. You need to write something that even you wouldn’t expect to happen. Expressing the characters feelings, reactions and emotions in the hook sentence is a major part.

Hope this information helps you right a great book!!
