Strategies for Online Writing in 2011

In 2010, I have seen my online earnings from writing online increase a few times. At the same time, we also saw several writing stop pageview earnings and convert entirely to Google Adsense revenue sharing system, to sustain their operations. So what are your writing strategies in 2011?

1) Write More
In 2010 , my target was to have 500 articles, but it fell short. I only have 345 articles submitted. As such, I would need to double my efforts. My target for 2011 is to have 1, 000 articles in my repertoire and my passive income would definitely increase 2-3 times. I’m positive about this.

2) Write SEO Articles
I have got to write more SEO articles. It may take some time to do the initial keyword research, but it is going to worthwhile. It’s a “work smart” strategy.

3) Promote my Articles
I have always been promoting my articles in batches to social bookmarking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon and Delicious. But there is a need to include new sites like Redgage, SheToldMe and Snipsly.

4) New Writing Sites
I’m thinking of writing or republishing in two new writing sites. One of the Bukisa and the other is Hubpages. I guess it’s time for me to get out my comfort zone and move to other unchartered territories. I would need to learn new things like to promote affiliate products and services from Ebay and Amazon, which I have not fully understood how.

That’s all for now. It does seem overwhelming when I take a look at my strategies for 2011 , but I guess it’s something I have to work on. It’s going to create passive income for my retirement afterall!

I wish you a lot of luck with all these goals. :) I could never write that many articles in a year, but I’m sure for you it’s possible.

Personally, my goal is to keep writing at about the same rate on Triond, but to expand my efforts promoting, aiming for more views per article rather than more articles. And I also want to try writing for traditional publications, which are more lucrative but harder to get into.
