Sometimes You Just Feel Like Writing for Triond

When the mood strikes, it’s time to hit the keyboard.

Sometimes you just feel like writing for Triond. It’s not about the number of view you might get or the money, you’re just in the mood. Sometimes you don’t even have anything in particular you want to say or write about, but you feel like writing.

I write for a living. Many days I tap out more than 5,000 words, most of it fiction but some of it blog posts or Triond articles. One of the things I love about writing at Triond is the freedom. Oh, sure, in my fiction I’m free to make up anything I want, but it takes thinking and planning. Also, it might take a few days or a week to finish a short story, and often it can take months to finish a novel, but with Triond I can write a little something and send it out to the world, receiving instant gratification.

That instant gratification can be important for a writer from time to time, but it can also be fun!

I used to give a lot of thought to my Triond articles, planning ahead a few days about what I wanted to write, doing research and the like. Nowadays I tend to write whatever comes into my head at any given moment, and honestly, my views have improved of late.

I think I’ve stumbled upon the notion that, for me, informational articles on Triond don’t bring in so many views. Such articles are covered elsewhere online already. But what I can bring to Triond is my own take on various topics, whether it be movies, travel, writing, or whatever. No one else can bring my particular viewpoint, and the same can be said for other writers.

One thing I have noticed is that it usually doesn’t work out for me to post more than one Triond article a day, so I try to stick with only one per day, despite the fact I’m breaking this rule right now. But hey, I just felt like writing!

Why does more than one article a day not work out for me? Well, I’m not exactly sure, but I have noticed that when I publish more than one a day the earlier articles tend to not get as many views. Maybe it’s because the earlier articles get pushed down off the News Feed on other Triond users’ Dashboard.

But again, the number of views is not necessarily the reason I write, though it is interesting, fun and hopeful to see those views.

I hope other writers at Triond find as much enjoyment from the site as myself.

I am in “burnt out mood” on Triond right now…but sure felt good reading your post. I guess it’s because it had so much of “go with your feeling” element. thanks for the wonderful share. and keep writing. cheers

Sometimes you just want to write and other times you feel frustrated.

Again, I know exactly what you mean. I gave up researching articles long ago and now, like you, write about whatever pops into my head. I think it’s the personal style people enjoy reading, like the chatty little magazine and newspaper columns that people often follow. Also like you, I notice if I post two in a day the first gets fewer views.

Val, I could’ve written your response myself. I’ve been thinking right along the lines of those “chatty, little magazine and newspaper columns.”

I totally relate to this blog. Notice I call it a blog: for me, expressing your opinion, your personal take on something.

Frankly I find factual articles boring, unless they are unusual or quirky. Never got into those more factual sites. Recall getting rejected for being too anecdotal.

Triond is great: idea springs into my mind, I type it on Word, paste onto submit form, Triond finds me a picture for it without me having to check licences etc. and voila…Then people tell me what they think of it, and we **talk**. Brilliant.

Honestly speaking I don’t write for Triond, in fact these days to write for a living does not work either, so I write for myself and me :)

I use writing as a powerful tool to get clarity of thought. When I write down my ideas, I am like this other person who is much more experienced than .. well… me. Everything makes sense. Initially it is hard and then words flow freely and then thoughts and then ideas. Keep writing.

I know exactly what you mean too. At most other sites that I write for, it feels more like work. At Triond I can do lots of research for a topic if I am interested, but if I lose momentum for an article that I have spent a week researching, I can just drop it and come back to it if I want to. I also like the idea of no deadlines.

I don’t know the psychology of why, but if someone posts more than 1 article a day on Triond, I normally only read one of them. Apparently I am not alone in this phenomenon.

Because the ppl/media etc put them on pedestals – so they are so high up they cant smell their own crap! They believe their own hype and equate more money with success. Shallow superficial vampires. When I think about the amount say footballers get paid and then the amount of people starving of hunger in the world – the injustice saddens me incredibly. I live in a Celebrity area in central London – when I see famous people in restaurants or walking the street – I ignore them. Never ever do I feed their ego. who do we look for when we live in a world that is colder than our own hearts

I agree with you – sometimes you just feel like writing – I have recently published three poems. :)
