Some things that kept me wondering lately when browsing through writing ads.
I always wanted to become a professional writer. Now that I am unemployed and not having much luck in job hunting, I kind of fill my days, trying to keep busy at a low budget.
Now I started browsing and notice many buy articles at low cost to publish in their name.
Well, if I can write 10 good articles a day, I would do so, but would I sell them for a dollar?
Also I notice stuff gets re-written. That is not a crime, but if I see that people demand articles to publish on Ezine, I kind of feel more checking them out to see if I cannot publish them there myself.
Fact is, that so far I have not ever sold an article of mine and published all my writings on-line myself.
Why? I know that money is tempting, but I wonder if I can even make a living from selling my articles.
If I get 1,5 dollar for an article of 500 words and I produce 10 a day, I get 15 dollar, which is about 12 Euro.
This might be a little provisional income that might buy me a meal, but it will not make me a living and I will not have much time for other things.
But I read in the Terms of Service in many writing sites that you should be the sole owner AND writer of the article.
Well, if you hire a ghostwriter, you are indeed the owner of the work, but are you the writer. Makes me wonder.
So why sell articles to others on such low cost, if you can publish them yourself.
Anyhow, there are so many sites you can publish your articles, it is becoming a bit of a whirl to write for them all.
Some might give more pay per view, but the problem is, that I barely get any views there.
So becoming a writer is one thing. Getting paid is another.

Truth indeed, write for pleasure, write for yourself, get good at it, and money will come – eventually, we hope.

I like your article. It took a common sense approach to writing.

I do write articles for others and have had writing I sold published under other writers names on all kinds of websites and on ezine articles among others. I have also written articles that I have gotten paid poorly for and others that I have made excellent money for.

Yep. I have been struggling with the same thing for some time now. Well, I never gave enough time to write say 5 popular-themed articles on triond and religiously republish them on Triond and AC. And with the rest of my time, I would market them and keep to m social life. Problem? I have a blog and a writing career I am serious about. So blog is what I invest majority of my time and effort- the ROI will come later, in monetary terms. but that hardly gives me enough time to earn a a decent living from online writing sites. go figure.

I started my online writing career as a ghostwriter. Now I only maintain one client whose project is very flexible.
