Writing is not so an easy task and hours are spend to write a number of articles by quite a number of writers. And the writers do have a sense of satisfaction when these articles or any other subject written by them are published. But the Indian publishing industry seems to be overdone by these writers, whether it be writing a number of articles or a short story, or by even poetry. The surging prices in the present day are also responsible for the plight of these Indian publishing industries.
Pen is mightier than the sword’
‘Pen is mightier than the sword’ & this is a proverb with which everyone is quite famous with, isn’t it, but it has been quite strange that the publishing industry has forgotten all about this proverb. How can the Indian publishing industry ever ban writers from writing short stories or whatever they write may it be creative writing, poetry writing or one’s diary (the diary of Anne Frank-is it not a lovely read) or maybe one’s own dreams which we experience once in a while. Does the publishing industry feel that these writers would fade away once they ban the writers? If they do think so, they are mistaken as these writers will move over to the overseas where they would indeed get enough recognition, fame and may also get a number of awards too which would be a terrible loss for the Indian publishing industry as well as for the media where they would be losing out on many talented writers too who have a knack of writing.
The Indian publishing industry has its own problems too where it could be concerned of the costs incurred by them as publishing is not an easy job where printing, printing/publishing pictures, publishing the entire volume and packaging the end product has to be taken into account. Not only this, if the end product succeeds in selling out to the public, they would also have to impart a part of their commission to the writers too. Therefore it is the prices which are surging in the present world are mainly responsible for the plight of these publishing industries.
Therefore the government needs to step in and provide some help for these publishing industries if they have to survive in their own Motherland, India, like a Mother looks after her children-whether be a male or a female. Would any Mother like losing out on their children? While the Media & the advertisers could also do a lot more to rescue these publishing industries, can’t they. They definitely can, provided they can meet the umpteen challenges which the writers and the people impose upon them.
