Ready Stedy Write

One of the waies to get started as a writter.

City Voices is a local writing group. They meet at Hanley Library Stoke-on-Trent STAFFORDSHIRE every fortnight on a Saturday. They have been going many years and have a large group of published and upcoming writers.

They do not critic. So if you want your work critiquing come but don’t say you weren’t warned. Their believe is that every ones voice and therefore their writing voice is individual. To critique to them is to attempt to become uniform.

Speaking for my self I have been attending them since September of last year and have found them to be very excepting helpful and inspiring group. They didn’t have any problems with myself and my brother being blind and accepted us at once. When we told them we were interested in joining them they seemed pleased to have new people join them even they hardly knew us.

I have found them to be very inspiring and their light but undemanding tasks to have been the source for some of my best work.

So if you want to get started writing but don’t know how. Want to get some ideas. Read out your work to an understanding audience who will not judge. Or want to get your work published. Please join us and may be we can help each other.

If you want to find out more before deciding whether you want to come or not. You can ling Hanley Library.

I liked your honest article. I’ve taken part in writing groups. They’re helpful if one seeks for feedback. Actually, I don’t expect flattery, but honest criticism whether good or bad, because I know that if I submit something to a mag or supplement, the editor is going to be a lot harder. Keep up the good work at your own pace with achievable aims. Thanks for sharing.
