There are a lot of writing sites on the internet that will pay for your articles or let you share in the revenue. Which ones are the hottest right now? Lets take a look.
Writing articles has become a great source of income for quite a few people. Although it is very difficult to make a living strictly from writing, many have successfully created a secondary stream of income from their articles. The problem most people have is knowing where to concentrate their efforts. Choosing a site is usually a personal choice for a lot of people. Some types of articles only do well on certain sties. However you do want to make sure that the site you write for has a large audience.
I gathered information on some of the bigger sites and compared their worldwide site rankings. Freelance boards and sites that hire you as a writer, such as about.com, have been left off the list. There many other profit writing sites out there, but I just wanted to concentrate on the ones with the most buzz. I listed their site rank and popularity change over the last 3 months.
Ehow – 175 – up 41%
Hubpages -282 – up 24.9%
Squidoo -328 – up 48.4%
Associated Content – 552 – up 10.4%
Helium – 2058 – up 49%
Xomba – 2301 – up 9.1%
Bukisa – 4637 – up 30%
Triond – 23289 – up 40%
Writing articles has gained in popularity over the past year and this list reflects it. The fact that ehow topped the chart sort of surprised me. I thought Hubpages would come in at number 1. All of the sites seem to be doing well and I believe that online article writing is here to stay.

I am surprised that Triond did as well as your data claims. What with reduced revenue earnings and server errors and \\\’analytics\\\’ changes to their site it is like writing back in grammar school ; the standard seems to have fallen quite a bit.
Not surprised to see eHOW listed; -I have been getting a bit of traffic from them recently.
I would have liked to see how FACTOIDZ rates on the list. They are tougher, they actually reject \\\’under-standard\\\’ content, minimum of 400 words (you can expect to NOT find poetry/haiku there) and they pay on four different pay-scale levels ranging from $1.00 per 1000 to $5.00 per 1000 for \\\’targeted topics\\\’ such as \\\’how to\\\’ etc.

PERFECT EXAMPLE in my post above: note the “\\\” randomly present. I did NOTHING to cause this, but kept hitting “submit” button every time the post was refused for having “errors”. There were no errors, it just did not accept.
Frankly I am surprised that it posted at all. Half the time people cannot comment on articles at Triond due to ‘internal server errors’ and we hear complaints of ’short comments’ like “good job” or “great! keep up the good work” and THIS is partly why…
Anyway, YOUR article is good.
Best with it!

Factoidz ranks 32,191 up 66% in the last 3 months. They look like a real mover.
Thanks for the comment.
