Popular Topics to Write on

What do people want to read online? You’re a writer and it’s helpful to know the popular topics so you can gain more readers. There are some topics that are more popular than others. I’ve been writing for awhile and I observed that some topic will do better than others. It will be beneficial if we avoid the unpopular topics. This way we can spend more time on popular ones. It will make us more revenue in the end. If you spend an hour on an article that will only get 20 page views per month, you rather spend that time writing an article that will generate 2000 page views per month. I’ve had articles that have only about 20 page views per month or some only 10 while others can be as high as 1000 page views per month. I look at the trend and follow those popular topics.

The popular topics for me were on relationships, health, weight loss, holiday, seasonal, celebrities, news, make money online and love. These have always been very popular for me ever since I’ve been writing on the net. People like to read about topics that they can relate to online. Everyone wants to know a little more about dating, love, weight loss or some good news. I especially can’t stay away from CNN because it’s so refreshing to read about the new events out there. It’s something that you can’t find in an old text book. It’s news. I think this is why some news sites do so well in traffic. You should consider writing news too but it’s only for short term traffic. People love to read the news but once they know about it they won’t read it anymore. You won’t gain anymore traffic after a few days whereas you will still gain more traffic on dating articles two years from now. You want to write lasting content. Lasting content is content that is classic at all time and it doesn’t get old. Articles like how to, information, facts, locals, holiday, dating, health, or personal experiences will make great lasting content. If you write about news, it will not generate traffic after three days and you have to write new content again which can be time consuming. What are some unpopular topics? I’ve wrote about a lot of topics and I found out that you will gain some audience for some topics and much more for other topics. It’s rare to have zero page views for any articles out there. You will have less if it’s not popular but someone will want to read it. Everyone interest is different.

If you focus on high traffic articles topics, you will work less and gain more traffic. You can spend more time writing articles that will generate more readers than spending time on articles that will not generate any readers at all. You will have more time to write when you write articles will generate you more income. What’s the point of writing if no one will read it? If you write about the grass in England, you will like it but not a lot of people will want to read it so you should write about how to cut grass or how to grow grass. It’s important to be productive and write articles that will generate traffic or readers. This way you can generate more revenue but also write articles that people want to read. The next time you’re sitting down to write, you have to ask yourself if people are going to want to read it. If the answer is “yes” then you can continue and if it’s a “no” then you can move on to the next topic.
