November 2011 Retrospective: Still Breathing, Still Writing
Triond has survived another month. Time to celebrate with my monthly retrospective of me.
Another month has passed and Triond still exists. To be honest, I find that both admirable and baffling. The problems with Triond have been well documented, and if you don’t know by now, I’m sure you’re figure it out before too long. I will restate one point that I keep hammering home, as it doesn’t matter how good the content is on the website is when the website is constantly malfunctioning.
But I digress, we have had quite the month here on Triond. Amidst all of the turmoil, all of the chaos, all of the gremlin induced insanity. 2011 is but one month away from ending and we are about ready to close the books on November of 2011.
In the end, we are one month older, hopefully one month wiser as well. We know just a tiny bit more than we did at the beginning of the month even if it is not evident right now at the moment. After a couple of months, I managed to grasp the 50,000 views badge and now I’m on the long and winding road to the 100,000. Will I acquire it before Triond falls through the cracks of the Internet like many of us thinks is inevitable? Only time will tell but I’m not quite ready to give up the ghost right away.
With each month, we are just hanging on but the writers of Triond are survivors. No matter what, we are surviving as the wheels fall off the bus. The brakes and we’re about ready to careen off of the road over the rail to our utter doom. But we will hang on and perhaps somehow, figure a way to ascend to the highest the heights.
Perhaps Triond still has a few more breaths left in the old husk that it is, before it collapses down. I’m still here and in the end, until Triond just breaks its last gateway, I remain writing.
We writers are all that is propping Triond up. We have bought it some extra time. Without us, this website would have dropped a long time ago. The writers who are too stubborn to give up.
I still stand. And I still write. You can take away my liberty. But you will not take my muffins.

Triond will survive as long people participate in site activities, regardless of errors. The fact that it’s a free site that pays you money helps a lot, and facebook has shown that even when people are hopping mad at a website’s creator, they’ll still stay on the site–even if only to rant about it. (Yes, it’s a different story, since they have the right to make changes, but it’s similar.)
