When I logged on this morning I was both surprised and amazed at what I read about various things.
It was a great pleasure for me to log on to triond this morning and find that I had, at last, moved up a tier onto the 200,000 views badge, something that gives me a real sense of achievement, though the next one, a half a million, does seem an incredibly distant goal just now. All the same, to have got this far means that I must be doing something right, so I feel rightly that I do have reason th blow my own trumpet here.
On the other hand, I was reading the various things on the web about the inglorious and not undeserved demise of Muhammar Gaddafi, who allegedly said to his captors that what they were doing to him was against Islam, and questioning if they really new what they were doing in the moments before his execution style slaying. What right did that murderous war criminal have to question the morality of the men on whom he had heaped so much suffering over the years?
It matters not who or what you are in life, the fact is that goes around ALWAYS comes around again, and the chance of the man ever being kept alive after capture were vanishingly small, simply because the thirst for vengeance that burned in the breasts of those hunting him could only be sated by his visible and celebrated death. There can be no reason to feel sorry for a man whose supreme indifference to the fate of others caused so much death and destruction globally. He definitely got exactly what he deserved.
It was quite sad, yesterday, to hear that the occupy protest had caused the closure, for the first time in living memory, of St Paul’s Cathedral in London. I am on the side of all who feel that the system needs a major overhaul, but peaceful protest that has the potential to spill over into something nastier cannot be a good thing, and will hardly endear the cause of those protesting to the hearts of the general public.
It seems that the situation at triond is VERY slowly beginning to improve, in terms of views and earnings, though whether this is due to a renewed vigour in making links to stumbleupon – on my own part – is partly responsible? I suppose each of us bears responsibility for self promotion, and the writing web is a very hostile environment for any writer, meaning you must do what ou have to to keep ahead of the pack.
We have to hope that the noticeable upturn in the site fortunes continues, or even accelerates, because it is very much to our advantage to work toward that goal, though nothing ever really happens that fast in the writing world, unless an idea goes viral, which actually happens very rarely these days. All we can do is keep posting quality content and hoping for the best, but the signs at the moment are actually quite encouraging.
This has, so far been a notable day, and may well get better as it unfolds. To have pushed beyond that 200,000 views mark feels really good, and I have to thank an army of loyal fans and friends here at triond for all the support and following of my humble written efforts. Without them, the figures would certainly be a lot worse. It will soon be a whole year since I began my triond journey, and so far I have enjoyed it enormously. Let’s hope year two proves to be even better.
