Niche Blogging – What is It?

There are many different types of blogging. The one that this article will cover is a little something called niche blogging. First let’s try to figure out what the term iteself means. Well, we know what blogging means (obviously) but what the heck does that niche word mean? For those of you who don’t want to leave the article to search the meaning, a niche is a kind of area of specialty, one that you excel in, etc.

So if I excelled at writing about wildlife then that would be my niche. But how exactly does niche even connect to blogging? Well, if you’ve found out what areas of writing would be in your niche, then some people would try to blog on the area of their niche. Again, why is this? Well, it makes sense to blog about an area that you excel in, right? That way you can provide really valuable information, tips, etc. to your readers and that would result in a very succesful blog. If you have a very successful blog then there are loads of ways you can use that to earn a large amount of money. I’m not going to pretend that earning money isn’t one of the reasons people try blogging on certain areas because trust me, it is.

I mean, for starters you can start putting up ads and stuff on your blog. If it’s successful then it would have lots of people visiting it which means increased chances of people clicking on those ads so you can earn. Anyways, let’s get back to the topic on hand. Actually, I think the question ‘What is niche blogging’ has pretty much been answered in the first two paragraphs so I’ll just give you some more information on how people earn with their niche blogs and why they make them.

Well for starters, I can bet quite a pretty sum of money that most of those niche bloggers you find online are Freelance Writers. It only makes sense because Freelance Writing is a business that required a lot of promotion to be successful and if a Freelance Writer can gather a good crowd at a niche blog that they make, they can direct those readers/fans to their Freelance Writing website where, of course, those people get to see that writer’s porfolio, works, etc. and maybe buy e-books from that Freelance Writer (if they’ve made any) or think of hiring that writer.

Let’s go into a little more into how people can make money with their niche blogs. Another way is donations. Some people like to try to put donation buttons on their blogs and will try to come up with one excuse or another so that it doesn’t appear as if they are asking their readers to donate. Other niche bloggers, however, might put up a donation button on their website and shamelessly ask readers to donate.
