Join the Writing Challenge…
Do you have a goal of writing a Novel but have never got round to it? Well, this is your chance. NaNoWriMo is an event whereby you write a novel of a minimum of 50,000 words in one month. It takes place every November, from 1 – 30 November.
Your Novel can be any theme and if you are able to complete 50,000 words (1667 words a day), you are declared a winner. No official prizes are awarded for length, quality, or speed.
So if you are interested, sign up at: http://www.nanowrimo.org/
It’s Free to join and you must be a least 13 years old.

On the website:
1) You will be able to track your progress. You can write in Microsoft Word, then copy and paste it on to the website.
2) There are lots of pep talks to help support you.
3) You will also meet lots of fellow writers online and in person if you choose to meet up in groups. (in your area of the world)
I did this project about 2 years ago and advice anyone signing up to join a support group.
Ps. If you use Twitter, once in a while do a search on #NaNoWriMo and find out what fellow writers are up to.
Good Luck.

Good information, but writing a novel at the given rate means nothing else can be written.

It sounds like a great challenge. I have never written a novel before but I have thought about writing one. This would be an excellent chance to start.
